I’ve never really gotten into the whole discord thing, playing with others. Mainly solo with either game sound on or vod/music whatever going on through headphones.
Started in Legion, pugged some kills, was really proud of my normal Gul’dan kill being new to the game lol.
Stopped pugging after 'cause groups were always bickering, or blaming each other and it was not fun. So after constantly reading about how people find that one Guild they do everything with and enjoy the game.
I tried. Mostly it was HUGE guilds that just did their own thing. Or cliquey ones. So that turned me away also.
Anyways, wondering how I can approach this to breaking that comfort zone, I play a lot, can get better, I’d love to get into M+, Raiding.
Only liability is that recently Blizz said their end has issues so my launcher is disconnecting a lot 'till they find a fix. (Yeah, it sucks)
Just looking what’s out there and if I should try or just quit looking for that Guild/friends to enjoy the game with.
Thanks for reading.

Keep trying. Go for medium sized guilds, and make sure you try to talk in guild chat.
I’m hard of hearing and I’ve always had trouble finding somewhere to call home. I’ve even tried several large servers and found they’re the same. I was in an awesome guild here for a while, but it died when the leader vanished on us.
Keep looking, keep talking, and you will find somewhere eventually.

Thanks, I appreciate you replying. I had a person I know say a similar thing, to take it slow and look around. I realized being a ‘solo’ player just really made things feel depressing after a while. Hearing all these stories of fun w/ the guildies, running the content with them etc, a person begins to envy that.
I’ll see how it goes, who responds etc, and might as well give it one last try.

Yup, it’s not easy. I was in an awesome guild on A52, but like a lot, raiding pros moved in and killed it for anyone wanting a balanced raiding and social guild (which it was prior).
Only problem with the forums though is most guilds don’t use them. I’ve tried before and had mixed results at best. Your best shot is to try and talk to people in game, as hard as it is with them zipping about as they do.

I am starting to see it but thought I’d even reach out on the forums… too many in game are just full of 1000+ guilds that go no where. It’s definitely not easy.
I think people who already are experienced in what they do, know what to look for, have it easier than me who is new to all this
I tell myself I’ll try but BFA was the first I went in being a more settled in player, gave up on it, and now Shadowlands, I am not setting my sights high 'cause I’ll probably disappoint myself again but I am trying at least now.

Definitely understand that struggle, that’s why our small gaming crew started over on Dalaran and got away from Area 52 and switched to Alliance.
There are definitely good guilds out there, but they probably won’t fit every box unfortunately. We decided to rebuild our own guild to make it what we wanted, a relaxed placed to play and do the content. Sort of done with the spergy neckbeards that chase Mythic progression like a squirrel chases a nut.
Ltque is right, seems these forums are not widely used like they were back in the day. We’ve thrown up recruitment posts and they never seem to get us as much traction as in game pushes do.
If you’re looking for a smaller group of gamers you could always come join us and see if it’s a good fit. Most of us are just 30 something gamer dads, military, and vets just trying to enjoy our free time in game.
I will say though we’re not looking to push Mythic Raiding progression unless it just lines up like that. We’re going to be more focused on M+, PvP, and Heroic raiding as we build up the community.

Thanks for the offer! I’ll keep your group in mind. And yeah it seems they are a bit dead these forums. But I tried small steps and reaching out somewhere was step 1, lol.
In-game offers seem to all lead to those ‘cliquey’, ‘cesspool’ guilds that have like 2000 members and using greenwall or whatever it’s called.
I guess it’s how a person I know who is a long time WoW player said and that’s to take it slow and sooner or later you’ll find that Guild.
No worries and hope you find what you’re looking for.
