Leveling with heirlooms?

So i’ve noticed even the green drops i get at random are better in stats than my heirlooms, wich are currently at 110 max. I feel so squishy like i have to stop every few enemys and stuff my face with food before i die. even my feral druid and rogue seem to handle taking damage better.

Is this supposed to happen? I don’t think i’ve seen heirloom gear be worse than dropped/quest gear till now. i kinda want to catch up but i’m solo and i feel like i’m handicapped wile using looms. like if you poke me it’ll leave a big green bruise!

Keep in mind your missing a large portion of your talents which make things easier for your druid and rogue in comparison. Heirlooms work alright but aren’t properly optimized as the trade off for the xp gains. Typically at higher levels equal level blue quest gear does out do heirlooms stat wise (same thing happened in WoD iirc).

so is it not worth it to use them past 100? was hoping i could level faster this time because i’ve already done broken isles about 5 times already

For Dh your probably in for a bit more of a struggle then other classes that said I dont know how leveling is in Legion post-Legion, seeing as artifact traits are disabled your technically weaker now then when Legion was current. But you should be able to manage, it just may be slower then other classes.

Heirlooms are not as monstrously strong as they used to be due to the itemlevel squish. They are still equivalent to blue items of their itemlevel, but are generally nearly equal in stats to the gear you get from leveling. They do, however, still buff your XP gained by up to 50% total, which is absolutely worth using them (except weapon, because your artifact will usually trump heirlooms). And ya, your durability is somewhat weaker because of your lack of talents, but the soul spawns from killing things should still be sufficient to keep you healed.

I would still recommend going Havoc for leveling. Even without Demonic + Soul Rending, it still kills things 2-3 times as fast as Vengeance, and honestly most of your healing is going to come from those on-death souls anyway. And Vengeance at that level doesn’t have the durability or DPS yet anyway, because you’re lacking Soul Bomb. So you’re going to kill things and survive better as Havoc.
