Leveling was peak SoD just like it was in era

I chose not to do any of the incursions and leveled with the buff xp buff off (Insane right?)

Been level 50 for a while, as a ret paladin I got Sul’Thraze and guess what. Now there’s almost nothing to do lol. I did my share of world pvp so now I can - Raid log, go do horrificly unbalanced battlegrounds. About it. Little desire to brain rot grind for something that will become irrelevant next phase

I’ve been saying for some time, maybe one day retail lite players will understand that peak WoW was Vanilla levels 1-59.

While leveling I:

Obviously was able to do quests. Gave me gold, helped me advance through the levels, and some of them were actually pretty good if you follow them

Explore zones, instead of mindless zerging incursions or spamming I went from Felwood, Arathi Highlands, Southshore, Searing Gorge, and probably one of my favorite zones Tanaris because of the ample world pvp, cool neutral hub, and questlines that lead up to hinting towards C’thun

Obviously finding runes as you went along as well. Paladin runes especially (lore wise at least) since they had storylines with good flavors

And meaningful world pvp. Unironically more balanced than what it is currently since Shamans/Priests weren’t completely broken.

Just found myself doing 40x more content and things that were fun than what you have to do at 50. Especially since retail 0.5 mechanics are already being established I have little desire to farm Wild offerings 50 times in a row or do incursions. I’m just waiting for phase 4, hopefully without a world buff, to do UBRS, BRD, and the Silithus questing and world pvp to follow

Main point ----> Incursions are the retailification of SOD which is meant to be an extent of classic. leveling in classic is huge part of the game. People quit because they zerg to max level, have nothing to do, complain, then leave

Good for you. I will continue to take my fast levels on seasonal servers.

Sincerely, someone who has done a lot of leveling on HC.

If you took 30 seconds to read the rest of the post I wasn’t saying that as “I’M BETTER THAN YOU BECAUSE MUH LEVELING”

It’s to show my experience with content and what there is to do while taking the game for a traditional classic standpoint, and from a retailification standpoint

:worrypatonback:

I understood perfectly. You are saying the leveling content is still good. I disagree. Classic Era leveling is great because its a standstill a snapshot. There is no rush for anything. SoD is seasonal content with limited amount of time to enjoy the new content. I don’t want to waste my time doing things I have done many many times in other forms of the game. I want to experience the new things before its gone.

You can disagree, which is fine. Good for you that you are able to enjoy leveling in SoD. I personally will continue to enjoy my fast levels on a seasonal server so I can play the new content.

no, it isnt, also it wasnt.

peak is lvl 60 and having fun with friends in dungeons and raids.

Play new content? The only thing I can really see as “new” is ST raid which you can do once a week. Unless you legitimately enjoy zerging incursions.

This is also a point to bring up if classic+ ever becomes a thing. Original vanilla, from a gameplay perspective was 60% of the game. From a community perspective? It was 95% of the game. If Classic+ ever becomes a thing, things like incursions in SoD is something to watch out for as retailification

Yes, I rather spend my time pvping, farming BIS and doing the new raid for the new loot then level.
Again feel free to disagree. I don’t care. I will continue to take my fast levels. Doing the same quest for the 30th time doesn’t intrigue me. Specially when its not in HC.

Copium thinking Classic+ is ever going to happen at this point. They already showed they are not interested when they decided to make SoD.

But if we’re talking hypotheticals In what I consider a true classic+ environment I would only want these very few changes.

  1. super minor buffs to druid and paladin. Just enough so they aren’t a literal meme. But no extra skills or anything like that for any classes.
  2. New raids. On a slow release patch cycle.
  3. Maybe a new pvp event.
    Thats it.
I don’t trust blizzard to ever do anything right. I don’t even really trust them to make new gear for the raids.
