Leveling via Dungeons in Shadowlands

Is there some kind of technical reason why, or is it just to keep storyline straight?

If you spam dungeons and essentially skip to level 60 without completing covenants, you’ll be in this awkward position where you can’t do anything because they designed themselves into a corner with all of this borrowed power crap.

You won’t have soulblinds. You won’t have a covenant. You won’t have any proper class growth.

That’s all locked behind their mandatory storyline and progression now.

They have literally no capacity for foresight and everything they do seems to be shooting themselves in the foot.

You play the game their way, or you don’t play. It doesn’t get more clear than this.

Normally, I support the idea of having to unlock content before participating in it. But when it’s something as blatant as because they’ve designed a horrible gameplay mechanic, and not due to common-sense lore reasons, I have a problem.

Think of it like an attunement like the good old classic and TBC days.

There isnt anything bold about it. I would say you were more bold then I was. There is more than one way to enjoy the game and I dont fault anyone who wants to do things that way. But like someone said when you spend that much time for a world first it isnt as significant as doing it on the fly. You are also making plans based on content that can change. It sucks that things can change but thats the risk you take.

Im sorry of me not being impacted by the failings or broken plans of world first chasers is bothersome to some but its my opinion and I am without doubt not wrong. I dont recall explicitly condemning anyone for pursuing that I just said I dont feel bad.

I had 0 issues since this expansion started so I dont think its a streamer specific benefit, just some have had better luck than others. Many ISPs funneling data across the country combined with PCs with varying components and addons and there are bound to be bugs.

I had some lag here and there. Only issue was world server down after this mornings restart. I spent that few minutes clearing alts bags and moving them to Stormwind. Logged right in on that toon with the issues. Unplayable for some unfortunately but not for everyone.

Unfortnuanly this change prevents me to queue up for normals after reaching lvl 60 because I do not have high enough ilvl when it would have been fine at my ilvl BEFORE lvl 60. Sorry but it doesn’t make sense. Normals is to help gear up and I’m easy 10 ilvls behind now.

Plus I just got “Tirna Scithe: A Warning Silence” and I CAN’T EVEN queue up because 1) it doesn’t show up on the normal list anymore (yes I completed 'The Queen’s Request" and finished Ardenweald) but even if it does show up I can’t even queue up for it because of this suddon and annoying lvl 60 restriction of ilvl.

After lvl 60 higher ilvl requied (+10 ilvls of it)

So sorry I lvled faster than the story allowed and now I get PUNISHED for getting lvl 60!

Yeah once my first toon hits 60 its dungeon leveling for alts. Warmode buff can’t be PVP’d by ahole horde in dungeons. Was fine until I hit Ardenweald shoulda know thats where are the non-casuals would hang out.
