Id like to level via BGs. But no one thinks this is a good use of your time. If you like to BG, its smarter to sprint to level cap via PVE. Eat crow for several rounds of Epic BGs so you can get gear, and then finally play what you want.
Party Sync has murdered this option of leveling. Do something, please.
Why would it be a practical option when the balancing and scaling is all whacked out?
Leveling is such a relic in general
Although I used to love it, mobs scaling with you (no gaining strength through zones anymore) and the level squish and the poor scaling (level 10 vs level 68 relative power decrease) and the terrible balancing (resto sham being better dps than ele or enh for first 40 levels) makes me not enjoy leveling now, and I wouldn’t miss it

Pharazon (the pally version when they human and not Dark Iron before I stole her name for this druid) accidentally leveled out of being a twink when they first introduced XP in battlegrounds in 3.2.0 and there were barely any games in the xp-off queue that was added then so I took too many chances in the normal queue and leveled out. Sadly, it’s not efficient at all to level that way now for sure. I used to at least do a few random BGs while leveling for years, but it’s not really worth it if you actually want to gain levels. Which is kind of sad to me, since I enjoy the more limited class/spec tool sets of lower levels.
Won’t work. Most of the crows were wiped out by the bird flu. When they came back they were really ticked off so they formed a union. Now if you want to eat one you have to enter collective bargaining.

Though I agree with your last two sentences. Low player population is also the problem.

PVp leveling worked in the days of CTA weekend op.
It fell off for us even in cata really.
Before your party sync issue there was twink issue. Which is why many didn’t do this till level 60 for our versions like now cata.
at 60 you could buy pvp gear to not die like a muppet.
at 51…you were in a bracket with Naxx twinks all of tbcc and wrath. either you had (more) twinks and steam rolled. or you didn’t and were the steam rolled lol.
CTA weekends at least gave more xp to make the steam roll losses easier to take.
The real reason why leveling in BGs is not a practical option is not party sync, though party sync is annoying. The problem is that your leveler gets hardly any xp from a win, and even less for a loss. It didn’t used to be that way, so I have always assumed that Blizzard wanted to make doing BGs less appealing to play right from level 10. So levelers would stop doing them and buy boosts or something.
Exactly. I used to level via BGs but it’s so much quicker to just spam dungeons to level cap and PvP there where you also don’t have to deal with wonky party sink scaling shenanigans and twinks.
I think they made PvP at lower brackets less appealing so they don’t have to listen to as many people complaining about the complete lack of balance with some classes at lower levels.
