So I just came up with a interesting theory. If I let my friend who say is lvl 10 and I’m 60 and don’t group up and he pulls a ton of adds and I just blizzard them down will he get full credit for that? Then even goes for higher levels if the adds are grey for me and his is red or yellow will he get full exp? I’m in no support of botting but if I can do this I can level a friend up so fast this way.
There’s a negative exp bonus when you are grouped with people, even moreso when the people’s level is far apart, this is why you need to put 3 other people around his level into the group, because then it balances out better.
So basically, the only way to reliably power level him would be to do dungeon boosts and charge 3 people to come along, with your freind getting in for free, or if you want fast groups just offer free runs. Then mass pull low level dungeons and he’ll get easy exp. Set it to free for all loot with the exception of blues and above or something so you can keep the valuable drops.
Once he’s level ten run him through deadmines using this method until 20, then do stockades till 30, then do SM cath/armory till 38, then do Mara till 45 or 50. Then boost him through ZG or whatever it is till 55, then he can start doing dungeons for pre-bis on his own, or with you in BRD and other dungeons.
It would be kinda cool if it did give you 100% experience… but if it did, the outside world would be plagued with 60’s (probably mostly mages) on follow, and regular levellers wouldn’t be able to find any areas to grind/quest because the mobs would be constantly farmed.
I’d rather the boosters stick to instances and leave the outside world alone.
Unrelated to the OP’s question.
You would have to time it correctly (i.e. he would have to maintain threat on the mobs, which would be very difficult in this situation), but…
yes.
The answer to your question is no OP. Your friend will not get full credit. I couldn’t give exactly how they split the XP up but from experience it feels like you only get XP based on how much you killed the mob. So if you killed most of the mob, you’ll get most of the XP. If you touched it once and then a 60 comes in and obliterates it, you hardly get alright.
In practice this is mostly accurate, but it isn’t theoretically accurate at all.
Frosto dude ur cringe af lol. Like why even post? You said nothing of value. I actually explained how the exp spread works, yes, everything I said WAS related to the OP’s question. In far greater detail than deserved too because boosting is aids.
Also why even care, OP still hasnt liked or responded to anything in the thread. Hate people like that, like why even bother asking the forums if you just abandon your own thread.
It doesnt work like that. He will get exp based on the percent of damage he does. If you kill everything for him, his xp will be bad.
O/p was not asking about boosting or experience while in a group together.
He was asking if he taged a mob and someone not in his group killed it how much experience does the character that taged it get.
a lvl 60 in or out of a group will give the lower lvl toon the same XP per kill. Tested with a guildmate that was curious and used my 60 mage to kill stuff for him. When solo kill he got full xp…when grouped and killed got about 50%ish xp. when ungrouped, minimal tag damge 50%ish XP. When ungrouped and almost all damge done and killing blow by 60…50%ish xp… So if your going to help him its better to just be grouped and nuke stuff down for him. Or do as the other said and get him a group of similar lvls toons and go dungeon spamming…
