Leveling Thoughts

So there was a recent ghostcrawler interview talking about how leveling should feel like an accomplishment. I am wondering how many people feel that’s actively true.

Having talked to guildies and my partner kind of all had the same sentiment of “it feels kind of feels like paying dues” and if they want to go that route thats fine but, is there an alternative?

My thought, since level hasnt really meant much in a while, would be to just keep the level cap at 80 and just make unlocking the next power system progressively through the main story on your first toon then making it account bound afterwards(but still repeatable if you want) and just continue with the gear upgrades as needed. You could also allow the new zone to do 1-80 and if you dont want to do the new zones you could still do the old ones on alts as well but not scale the gear to where the new endgame content would be able to reach

I dont want this construed as a “I hate the new story” because I think its great but it was just a thought I had had.

Leveling feels, if anything, out-dated and obsolete. If it wasn’t for the cash-shop, they would probably offer a level 70 option for everyone. But, they’re monetizing that, so they don’t.

Probably some metrics that we are not aware of but if they are keeping the leveling, its because there is still a sizeable amount of people who want it, or its yet another cog in the ecosystem to pad subs.

Me not like leveling too much but if I’m ever in a need of horizontal progression, the bases are already covered.
