Leveling Speed

My idea:

Legacy content 1-latest expansion = Fixed speed

(Speeding through Chromie time is a separate issue)

Current expansion = Variable speed

Using Dragonflight 60-70 as an example…

The first character on your account 60-70 (Latest content) takes 20-30 hours to level.

Needed to do side quests, etc (See more of the new stuff).

Once 1 character on your account has done a proper journey to max level, your alts then level in half the time through the new content.

Curious to see how people would feel about this.

P.S. Delete boosts.

I like variable leveling speed, I think people should be able to pick how fast they want to level and get extra rewards like a title to incentivize the slower speeds. Also official Ironman challenge in WoW when?

Let me chromie time from 50-60, pls.

I do agree that leveling a new alt is tedious but there is also the aspect of learning your new class as you level up instead of being thrown 20+ abilities in the face at once.

I think the leveling speed is fine. Personally I’d rather see them touch up leveling difficulty.

People say leveling is supposed to do stuff like teach how you to play the class, but for a long time now it’s been so easy that not only does it not do that it probably is teaching people bad habits.

I’m not suggesting the game needs to become Dark Souls in how much it wants to kill the player, but the world could stand to be a little more dangerous. Any slow down this might cause in leveling since we can’t pull entire camps now can be compensated for with XP increases so the overall time to max level stays roughly the same.

Part way though the expansion I’d also possibly consider opening up Chromie time to max level. The reality here is that people are just gonna burn out on running the same 4 zones over and over again for those last 10 levels.

On a more minor note, while they’re doing a profession revamp it’d be nice if low level professions actually did anything worthwhile. It sucks to level a character and decide to level something like alchemy with it only to remember that all my potions grant like +1 to the stat they give.

Sort of like the old-school Heirlooms, but ones that only work for the last 10 levels?

Why though?
