I am at Level 30 and I’ve gotten there, so far, by just using Festering Strike, Death Coil, and Death Strike, with Apocalypse for the “oh crap” moments. I can’t really understand the rhythm of the rotation, however, or if there are any other spells I should be using as well.
Any suggestions to help me to level 50?

Haven’t you received the scourge strike ability yet? You’ll build wounds with festering strike and pop them with scourge strike.
you got SS at 11 so check your spell book. they glow when not in your bars

You need to learn how to rotate. There are three rotations; Single target, aoe, and burst cd’s.
It gets more complex as you open up more abilities.
I suggest you check out the leveling guide on icy veins.
It actually teaches you ur rotation as you unlock new abilities.
