Finally got around to dedicate time to my monk again, whom I haven’t touched since S1 of DF. I loved Brew back then, and want to level her and main her as Brew.
Obvs she is like a 5th/6th alt priority, so I don’t expect to do anything other than weekly/delve/heroic level stuff.
Shado-Pan is the way to go? or Harmony? I am seeing so many conflicting stuff since this patch came out.
If you’re just doing weekly/delve/heroic level stuff it doesn’t matter.
If you are looking to push high-level keys everyone goes Shado-pan.
It doesn’t sound like that’s your goal though so just push the buttons that make you happy.

In general it doesn’t matter; both are viable and both have been played at the high end.
Currently Shado-Pan has higher damage potential while not really feeling less tanky in a practical sense, so most people are playing it in the higher end.

Shadopan has passive 10% DR and is generally very easy to play. 9/10 times you go Shadopan.

Go Shado-Pan. Once you master the rotation and get bored then play around with Harmony.

I usually play all tanks every season. I am on the brew now. I did try shadow pan first but i am actually enjoying master of harmony.
Its still low keys, just doing 6 and 7s this week and i am playing with my son as a preservation evoker. They have really good synergy so probably helpful.
Damage is ok, i just crossed 600 ilevel so nothing to write home about, but i generally do between 480 and 700k dps depending on the dungeon, but going up as progress and learn it a bit more. Able to feel bulky enough as well, which is really my main goal, dont die lol
Anyway, my 2 cents if it helps

I switch between the two depending on my mood.
I find the big difference is:
Shado-do pan has bigger keg smashes. Which is nice for snap aggro (but keg smash radius is small imo so this doesn’t always help) and you get 10% Dr after dodging, which has a great uptime.
Harmony has frontal damage on punches and kicks, two celestial brews, and big dot damage from vitality.
I personally like harmony more because you have the extra brew and it feels better to hit tiger palm in aoe.
Both hero specs are very close so play what you enjoy.
My gut tells me shado-do pan does better with a good healer and harmony does better with less reliable healers.

Thank you all for the advices. I just finished capping my Brew and I’m already 600 ilvl with her.
I might try Harmony this weekend, I’m currently Shado-Pan and while it is very enjoyable, I do find myself wishing I had a bit more burst punch and range reach with short duration packs. Sometimes I feel like I should have one more attack in my rotation, but that might be my Fury Warrior brain of always press a button at all times.
Not exactly a fan of Exploding Key having a full min. CD and KS being only 15 yrds.
Can Harmony maybe address that?
Equinox guide is all the way. Even mordrim share equinox’s guides on stream.

Brewmaster should have something you can do every global unless you’re overspending energy.
Harmony doesn’t interact with either of those. The only “noteworthy” interactions with your rotation that MoH has is adding a cleave to RSK/TP/BoK and adding the Aspect of Harmony onto your CB.
You’re free to try either you wish of course, and I think it’s better to experiment with both as both MoH and Shado-pan are extremely enjoyable, but in my opinion MoH felt horrible in keys that were 10 or lesser. Just wasn’t taking enough damage to build vitality fast enough. Shado-pan does more damage overall currently (especially so if you’re able to fit 2-3 flurries into your shadow proc) and it was especially noticeable in those keys where MoH felt worse. Defensively, neither feels significantly better than the other. MoH’s defenses are more noticeable on the meters because of the extra CB you get, but the 10% DR from Shado-Pan that’s up for 80% of a dungeon is extremely notable. Like I said, try both and see what suits you most, but just warning that MoH felt horrible in lower end content IMO.
