Leveling in WoD Zones

Ok, so I hit 90 yesterday on my Mag’har Orc Shaman, and started leveling in WoD zones. Now the leveling experience in here feels 10x more painful to level through as what it was when it was current at the start of the expansion. Even doing the bonus objectives feels quite painful. It is like the mobs everywhere are way overtuned. Either that or shamans are undertuned for leveling.

Is it just me though or is it like this for anyone else?

EDIT:

Recorded this to show the pain while doing a Bonus Objective in Gorground.

Yup, it’s been like that since they did level scaling. Everything is overtuned and it really sucks.

I get out of Draenor just as fast as I possibly can…last time I leveled there, I think I did all of Shadowmoon Valley, hopped into Gorgrond for a bit and sneezed into Nagrand - and I was DONE. WoD is my LEAST favorite zone.

Yes I just went through it on my Mag’har warrior and I had not died once until I hit WOD. The good thing is if you stick to getting treasures and doing the bonus objectives it goes by quick. Things hit harder and takes a lot more to actually kill something.

It’s not just you or your class, the mobs there are hard to kill…especially the elite mobs. It’s pretty tough to find people to help you too, since there aren’t many doing the same quests. It’s the level scaling like mentioned above ^ which is sad because while WoD did have many problems as an expansion, the leveling experience was one of the best imo.

If you have flying, get a few garrison resources and buy a few exp pots from the garrison vendor. Then use the time wisely and fly around doing all the bonus quests that pop up and loot treasure boxes. (You need a treasure addon). It goes really fast this way.

I have HandyNotes and HandyNotes Draenor Treasures, and have been also doing the bonus objectives, but even with the mobs of the bonus objectives, they hurt like hell. Even the small ones hit like an elite mobs.

I’m trying to remember if I had any particular problems with the mobs. There are some lvl 110 areas that remstatic in lvl.

Also, very important. Make sure you have archeology trained, even lvl 1. You get twice as many treasure nodes in the bird place.

I am actually one of the few who enjoys the WoD zones. Just use the exp potions and focus on doing the bonus objectives. You’ll be 100 in no time.

I don’t get it. Every time I level in WoD I usually hit 100 before I finish half of Shadowmoon. It’s great.

I always stop in at the pvp vendor in Pandaria and buy gear for my non-heirloom slots. It’s a much higher ilvl.

I don’t think it is really much of an ilvl problem.

Maybe it is class-dependent? I’ve taken a sub rogue and my 2nd paladin through WoD post-7.3.5, they breezed the content.

Gimme 26 minutes, then I’ll post a video, then tell me that it is something to do with the classes. Because MoP/Cata zones, everything was a breeze. The Tanaan Jungle Scenario, was a breeze. But after that, everything became a problem, because everything was hurting pretty badly.

Collecting treasures and doing bonus objective areas isn’t that hard. You’ll be 98 in no time and off to legion.

Interesting. I actually didn’t know that :+1:

people kill stuff in wod? I generally fly around and collect treasures. You’d hit 100 w/ less to no effort

With my most recent alt, I queued for BGs through those levels. The average queue time was only 4 minutes or so which beat out WoD dungeon queue times which were around 20 minutes or more. I’m not a huge PvPer but this worked out well. My team usually won and it didn’t take that long to get to 98 to get to Legion.

Leveling in WoD only takes like an hour anyways. So it’s not a big deal, but yeah. The scaling messed everything up in those zones

I took a hunter through there about a month ago and didn’t really have any issues. I didn’t even have any of those level 91 epics although I think with stat squish they are not as useful as they used to be.
