Leveling Experience

I would like to know if I am alone here or if there are other like-minded individuals - I am currently having more fun playing and leveling alts than doing most of anything in the endgame. Maybe it is the gratification that most levels take about 10 minutes now before 60, but I really feel like the endgame is just lacking something. I have a ton of 70s at this point and a lot of classes just don’t feel great to play and i actually prefer to play them at lower levels. Maybe my problem is i am traditionally a PVP player? Even leveling with dungeons are enjoyable I like the cata dungeons and im able to level through them.

Yes.

You ate literally the only person to feel this way. Congrats on being the most unique person in the history of the World of Warcraft.

I’m enjoying both, which is problematic when trying to dedicate time to work on my main.

I mean I already got what i wanted out of endgame to be honest im not into raid logging or hardcore M+ or heroic raids anymore - I got my elite pvp appearances on a couple characters and PvP feels weird right now anyways with the meta we got going on

You are just another altoholic. Welcome to the club. Leveling generally feels better than level cap where progress slows and there is relatively a smaller amount to do other than incremental improvements to gear.

This expansion feels like that especially however, i have played through many expansions, I just feel like this time around endgame has not been as engaging. I have NEVER had the amount of max levels or alts I have had this time around

I’ve got a good amount of 70s. It started with professions and the limited knowledge you get from those. But now im leveling multiple of the same classes to farm up some of the transmog sets from LFR. More vault chances on 1 class.

Not sure what it is. This raid tier, I really like the sets for almost all the classes.

But ask yourself the converse. Does the leveling feel engaging? It doesn’t, it doesn’t feel anywhere as good as going 1-60. They did something clever in putting half the story after renown gates some people may choose never do, but it’s not really that far out either.

People have always loved alts; but the problem is, there isn’t enough room in this town for all the playstyles if Blizzard takes this long to release content like the trading post. And on this forum, people can’t really seem to “concede” people do things they do not (pvp vs raid vs m+ vs alts vs mogs, etc).

No, not unique.

Same OP. End game doesn’t interest me much. I like leveling and experiencing the different classes. I also used to level their professions, but that’s a little harder to do now. I take them as far as I can, then forget about it. I dislike that RP is so rare now, especially on non-RP servers. It is what it is, I guess. Something to pass the time.

Hehe I know im not the only person. Im just kinda disappointed with the expansion if I REALLY had to sum it up, just wanted to see if others share a bit of my frustration.

Naw, I did like it, but it’s just 10 levels. In DF I gorged on it with my guild in three days to 70, and it will never excite me beyond 3 days well spent. Blizzard can’t make a levelling expansion again if we complete them that fast. Love dragonriding, and look forward to going back for a few more races.

So disappointed is a bit strong since I liked it, but it’s just nowhere as long as the old expansion packs. Still, I have stuff to do.

I mean im a fan of not making the leveling take 3 weeks like it used to - I just dont have time for that any more and why I cant get back into classic anything. My issues lie primarily as the only thing I find enjoyable in the endgame is PvP and its honestly just a mess right now. I will not grind renown on any of my characters, not just because I think its too tedious, but I just have too many characters my “main” is renown 6 hehe. So I havent been able to progress in the storyline which is another enjoyable aspect of a new expansion. Im not trying to complain here these are just my personal gripes as to why im not enjoying endgame as much among other things that are probably beating a dead horse at this point.

I get what you mean, but I am enjoying the lack of FOMO in this xpac.

Also, imo this xpac is the most alt friendly we’ve ever had from launch.

Oh it is most definitely alt friendly almost too alt friendly haha like I said, im enjoying alts more than anything else right now, probably the only reason im still playing.

Hello fellow alt leveler. I have 12 level 70s now I think. I don’t even know why. The only thing I do at end game is pvp.

The highest renown I have with any faction is 10. Professions? What are those? I kinda do a little bit with them but I felt like I got behind on them back in December so I think I mentally just gave up.

I actually really like that there’s no torgast or anything to worry about. I can get someone to 70 and then either abandon them or just do some casual bgs to gear them up.

The only problem is that I am slowly bleeding myself dry. I’ve never been good at making gold before but now the only reason I’m staying afloat is thanks to a couple of lucky epic food embellishment drops lol. I used to herb and mine while I leveled but now they are not really worth much anymore.

I suspect that for me, it’s related to ADHD- dinging a new level is a little dopamine hit especially since they revamped the talents. Ding, get point. Rinse and repeat.

The funniest part to me is that I don’t even actually like leveling. Idk if that makes sense. I like to hit a new level but I’ve done all the same quests dozens of times over (I have a bunch of 60s in addition to the 12 70s I have). When i try doing a different route, it feels slow and I don’t like that so I always go back to the fast but boring method.

If ‘end game’…i assume M+ and raiding?..is all I had to do, Id quit the game.
Raiding is like a riot, lol. Not fun at all.
M+ would bring out the worst most hateful part of me because of the competiveness.

I mean, DF is amazing…absolutely love it. Kinda burned myself out though cuz I ran four characters on beta before it went live, lol…so Im taking a little break and yeah…working on other things right now…farming old content for those grey and white transmogs.

The allure of end game eventually wears off for most people. It’s just an endless hamster wheel for gear, RNG, and frustration. I enjoy leveling and questing a lot as well and find that more enjoyable than end game stuff now myself.

I quit the race for two main reasons…player behavior (and my reactions to it) and realizing this race has no finish line, lol.

One thing I loved about the old 3.5" floppy disk game “Pirates!” was you retired your character…the game was ‘over’ any time you wanted and could start a whole new one.
If the game had gone on forever and ever amen, Id have lost interest pretty quick.
