Nothing was fun, different, or “discovery” about the 25-40 leveling experience. All I discovered is how far my body can last spamming Stockades/SM in one sitting.
Cleave dungeon spam groups are so far ahead of any alternative method its ridiculous, people hitting 40 and clearing gnomer before like a majority of the pop were even 35 lol.
A guildie tried to quest and apparently it was extremely awful, way too slow.
Think many of us have done the classic leveling experience enough on era normally, i dont know about ya’ll but when I play SoD I’d rather more to focus on runes, professions, new builds, etc on launches of new phases than having to dungeon spam or be behind on lockouts.
being on a megaserver vs. not being on one has nothing to do with the fact that classic quests are so bad and slow that its better to spam dungeons with your new runes/powerful gear not previously existing in classic
we never had a phased release of classic, so
also what the above poster said, my guildie said there were way less layers
No but the immense difference wouldnt be there is you had no competition at all eh
who wants to fight 20 people over a spawn. The servers werent made for that. Maybe we should have had SoM’s quest experience boost instead to compensate
It’s also worth noting that the quality of zones drops off around level 30. The level 1 to 20 experience in classic is the best/tightest leveling experience.
I like questing. And if SoD was just the end game it wouldn’t have much legs.
I’m just willing to say that the level cap thing doesn’t work. It works ok at level 25, but as soon as you raise it you have a host of problem.
“I chose the most mind-numbing way to level for myself Blizzard how could you do this to me?!”
Oh no, you’ll miss out on 2 whole lockouts from a 3-day cycle of a raid that will be clearable in quest greens, that drops gear that will itself become glorified questing gear in 2 months, how tragic…
This really sounds like you’re approaching the game with the wrong attitude. SoD is designed in a way that you will not fall behind just for taking it casually and enjoying the sights. I know we’re used to things in retail where taking one week off will leave you permanently behind for the entire expansion, but that’s not how we do things here, you’ll be fine
its moreso to me that SoM buffed the quests because the theme of those kinds of seasonal servers isnt leveling. It is literally buffed on SoM so i dont know why you defend literally every single about classic wow.
You must be confused. This is Season of Discovery, not Season of Mastery. You can’t say “the theme of seasonal servers isn’t leveling” when we’ve literally only had the two
just can’t bring anything up to you kind of people
“Hey, SoD is experimental with a huge focus on discovery (of runes, new builds, whatever), and we’re only here about a year based on the timelines Blizzard has been sharing. Classic leveling is pretty slow, especially after the 30s. I’m sure plenty of people want to try multiple alts and new builds/runes, so could quest xp be buffed similar to SoM so that more time can be spent doing the actual discovery aspect and not the unchanged level grind?”
“no everything about classic is based on wasting your time u will suffer and enjoy it like all of us other classic nochanges andys enjoy”
You’re definitely confused if you think I’m a “nochanges andy” lol
Then again I really shouldn’t be surprised when your response to someone simply disagreeing with you is to fly off the handle about how you just can’t talk about anything without someone ruining your day
Its a little weird there’s only 5 layers on Crusader Strike atm.
There’s no way that there are only 5 layers worth of people on CS three days into Phase 2 on a SATURDAY.
I can imagine the zones are INCREDIBLY over-populated.
… Unless the reason there are so few layers is because players in instances don’t count in the eyes of the dynamic layering tech? So because half of the server is in Stocks/SM, more layers aren’t spinning up.
If everyone is doing 5 mans, overworld questing should be fast, faster than spam groups actually. If they arent all in 5 mans im not sure what your point is though
I play on Lava Lash one of the smallest US servers. SM is completely packed constantly it has nothing to do with megaservers Quest Xp vs Dungeon spamming is an issue that has plagued classic and doubling or even tripling xp gains for questing would give players an incentive to do open world quests possibly for a lot of those players they would “discover” quests they never knew existed because there was 0 incentive to do them unless they gave a pre-raid BiS reward
