Hi All,
What’s everyone leveling plan?
Take ur time? Rush? Stay ahead of the curve?
I’m planning of mapping out my leveling route (lol… first time EVER!). I want to stay ahead of the curve and be like 1 level below zone quests. But, I have a feeling once I get to STV I will get caught up in some pvp. lol
I want to stay ahead of the curve to be one of the first rogues at 60 and farm my dal’rends. Which I never got in vanilla. =(
I haven’t decided yet.
Last time I did instances from 10 to 60. This time around I have no friends or guild so that’s probably not going to happen.
I’ll probably just reverse my sleep schedule and quest to 60 since it’s 40% faster now.
I don’t think instance grinding will even be popular with the quest speed change anyway.
You want a leveling partner? I’ll be playing an alliance dwarf rogue. =)
I will create my level 1 human warrior and run to Ironforge and from there towards Loch Modan. I’ll go in that direction until I get to Thelsamar and pick up the flightpath there and then run back to Dun Morogh. I’ll climb the mountain pass and come down to The Wetlands. I’ll swim across the river into Menethil Harbor (this is very difficult and you need to practice this many times to learn how to not get killed by Murlocs or Crocolisks). The goal is to do this without dying. Then, I’ll pick up the flightpath there and hop on the boat to Theramore Island and pick up the flightpath there and take the boat back to Menethil Harbor and catch the next boat to Darkshore. Pick up the flightpath there and then take the boat to Teldrassil. Set my Hearthstone in Darnassus and make my way to the starting area for Night Elves and quest there. My goal is to get exalted with Darnassus to get my tiger mount. I have an Excel spreadsheet printed up with about 250 quests that give reputation for Darnassus. I’ll cross off each quest on the list after I pick it up to keep track of my progress. I will hit Revered with Darnassus by about level 52 and will get to Exalted by turning in Runecloth at level 60; about 250 stacks. I might get it done even faster if the quest XP/reputation is better than it was in Classic. After that, I’d like to get exalted with AV, Argent Dawn, Timbermaw Hold, Thorium Brotherhood and maybe the Wintersaber Trainers.

It’ll still be good to do the dungeon quests, sounds like they upped the xp on those and the elite quests by a lot.
That is awesome.
I’m planning of making an excel spreadsheet of quests and zones to hit as well. I dont even need questie to tell where to go. I can do alliance quests in my sleep. =)

I won’t be necessarily rushing to max, but I have tons of free time and will likely be getting there in short order. Going alliance Gnome ofc, and I’ll pick up the flight paths like a previous poster mentioned. I always mountain hop my eastern kingdom characters. I’ll cut up through Ashenvale and get the fp in Azshara, and Ratchet, and Booty Bay as well. Where to quest will be based on level progression (faster than the OG) and quest rewards. Will definitely hit up dungeons at least once for quest rewards.
Same here
. I used an addon called monkey quest durning Classic, it organizes the quests better on my screen and it’s not so invasive as Questie.
Interesting. What is the minimum level needed to realistically get the flightpaths in Azshara, Ratchet and Booty Bay without dying?
For sure, dungeons should be done at least once.
I’ve done the run to mulgore before on a level 10 hunter on that path, no deaths but being careful. At level one I think the guards at splintree post will see you though. And there are spiders lvl 39’s near the Azshara area. They often are near the road so care must be taken.
Stupid autocorrect doesn’t like wow names
I haven’t decided. I’m still uncertain as to how committed I will be to SoM. Depends on if we can hurry up and kill Sylvannas on retail already, lol.
Last time I took my time, played a resto druid and healed dungeons. This time I’m still gonna be a druid (not sure what kind at end game yet) but I’m probably gonna level feral. I might do a mix of quests and dungeons, or maybe just focus on quests since I never do that. I’m undecided on Horde vs. Alliance though.
I dunno, I think it depends on how popular SoM is. In the original go I didn’t have any friends or guildies to level with and had very little trouble finding groups until end-game, when finding a tank was tough.

Feral tanking is a lot of fun in the leveling dungeons, you’ll be in demand.
Well… I’m going alliance and if you guys want we can all be friends. =)

Hi Tubbly,
Please correct me if I’m wrong but the only reason I believe most people will concentrate on doing more quests in SOM would be in hopes of eventually getting the Loremaster Achievements; if they believe at some point in the future, their character will be able to transfer to a WOTLK Classic server and get the credit. Otherwise, why do any more quests than necessary to level to 60?
Honestly, because I never do them haha, so it might just be a thing to try. If I go the more bear route I’ll probably gravitate back to dungeons (because I just like doing them) but if I wanna stay kitty focus I might just quest.
It might also depend on how meta people decide to be. I want to move at a faster pace this time if I can, but not at a suuuuper fast pace. I remember how even Classic turned into an AoE grind fest and with a 12-month cycle for SoM, I don’t really expect that to change. It might just be difficult to find a group as a non-meta class doing chill runs. I might just not want to bother with that.
We’ll see!
Same here… I want to stay ahead of the curve but not lead it. lol
I want to be one of the first rogues in UBRS.
I play late at night so i feel like I dont have to worry much about the herd I will just take my normal route leveling
My friend has this whole plan he told me about and his goal is to hit 60 fast and then he wants to be the first rank 14 on the server. He keeps rerolling alts on the beta to perfect the leveling method. I’m like ok I’ll support you but there’s no way I can be that sweaty. He’s like that’s ok I’ll help you out when I get up there. LOL. I wish him luck.
I’ll be behind for sure due to raiding on release night and real-life things. I can’t take time off or anythIng. So I’ll level as fast as I level.

I might push for r14 depends on how sweaty everyone else is. I can hit 12 pretty easy, just never cared to push for r14.
Yeah, I might log and do a quick test run. I just hope to make some friends while leveling. The game is much more fun when you have friends. Playing solo gets boring fast. Oh, and lets make some enemies. =)
