Leveling Brew master

Wow Brew master is so broken at low levels it is insane. My only aoe keg smash has a 7 sec cd and need energy to use… I have a max level brew master… its fine with the full tool box but at low levels this is just insane. I know only end game matters, but… If I was a new player I would give up on this class. Breath of fire is at level 40… This is not just broken but insane. Druids get thrash at 20?..

You can switch to wind walker when soloing at low levels can’t you? Or is that unlocked later, I’ve honestly not leveled a character from below level 100 in years so I don’t know what’s changed.

You can switch to ww sure, but it sounds like he wants to lvl as a tank. Which honesty spamming dungeons as a tank is pretty quick way to lvl 1-50 60-70. 50-60 a little slower due to getting the big dungeons

If you can get to the level where you get black ox statue then you’ll be fine. Just drop it and heal it. It tanks better than you can.

^This, unfortunately

Before level 60 (when you get the ox statue), the toolkit is terrible.
Not having mastery until lvl78 also really hurts BrM, more than other classes.

It only gets as easy as other tanks around lvl 90 when the toolkit is complete.

As someone leveling a brewmaster monk (level 55 at the moment) I can confirm it is very squishy. I mean, it can get the job done, but it’s a miserable experience compared to any other tank.

this is all good to know. I want to tank end game as a monk, but I never thought as going WW just to level

Confirmed lower level dungeons I have to pull smaller groups than my Prot War. Brews do help, but we can’t go pull crazy until latter levels.

Best advice is to play WW or MW until you get to the statue as mentioned above. BrM can be done at low levels, but it’s honestly not worth the headache.

The tank monk is probably one of the weakest tanks to do dungeons with while leveling. It also takes a lot more dmg and has barely any cooldowns at all during low levels. At 60 you get the statue which helps immensely while tanking.

It’s just not a fun spec to level or do dungeons with that’s for sure. You’re better off just going dps since that is actually quite strong. If you enjoy tanking then you’ll probably keep tanking no matter what. But while leveling the tank monk is my least favorite, it’s just so squishy in all the wrong ways.
