Prot is my favorite spec and I’m now wondering how painful it is to level in it (outside of tanking) through regular questing? I am planning to start leveling this coming weekend. Should I go ret instead?
Can’t speak for 0-60, but 50-60 was insanely easy as Prot especially being able to Threads of Fate ASAP and get the Kyrian throwy spell
I still prefer prot for callings or other WQs. You gather everything you need for a quest and wittle it down. Your dps will go up with the more mobs you grab so not only can it be safer but it can be faster as well.
I went 50 to 60 as prot and it wasn’t bad. The get 10 of this or 4 of that kind of quests were faster because you could tank 4 to 6 mobs and come out the other end intact. Maldraxxus went really fast tanking.
Prot is good to level in. I am levelling right now as prot and it seems to do almost as much damage as ret single target.
Prot really starts to pick up in the 30’s, lots more action and lots of holy power to throw around for dmg or heals as needed.
Once you get the first 2 talents at 15 and 25 it really starts to get smooth. Judgement is one of your hardest hitting abilities and having 2 charges of it as well as 3 charges of blessed hammer, you never run out of things to hit with or holy power.
