Will you get your first toon to 60 before you begin to level an alt? Or, will your main and alt level more or less (say, within 10 levels) if each other?
I’m an altoholic and am struggling to identify my main. I may try a bunch of classes to about level 20. Even after choosing a main, I still might keep two or three classes within a few levels of each other up to 60.
It kind of makes sense to level multiple characters simultaneously, unless you’re in a huge rush to um… go see Molten Core? I don’t know. I plan to have at least 2 characters that I am rotating between to take advantage of rested exp.
But I may throw in a third character to keep it interesting, depends on what my free time will allow.

I’m gonna alternate leveling two mains (Dwarf priest/Human rogue) and take my time and just enjoy the questing & exploration of the old world, etc.

I’ll have many alts before my main hits 60 since I’ll only play my main with a friend and my alts when he isn’t there.
I’m altholic too anyway… <.<

I didn’t play until November 2005 so I did not have much of a chance to level toons up much before the next expansion, but I also was working and had many responsibilities.
Now I’m retired and in no real rush so I’ll probably level my main and alts at the same pace, since I really have no interest in raids, dungeons and pvp.
Everyone has their own interests and priorities and not everyone likes brussel sprouts and liver like I do.

I’m going to try not to play alts until my main is 60, but I know I’m gonna. I can’t help it. Its a weakness. I can already see when friends are at work or something, I’ll probably play an alt while I wait for them to get home. And I need another alt to play separately with my kids. Bah, it hasn’t even launched yet and look, I’ve already committed myself to 3 toons. What’s gonna happen after launch!?
Help me. I need a support group.

Alts, many alts I will play during launch week. They are letting us create 50 characters, you know.

That’s the plan at the moment. But I’m an incurable altoholic and to be quite honest I will get distracted by other shiny pretty classes and roll a ton of alts.

I’ll be leveling somewhat closely together, depending on how much of a groove i get into.
If I play the way I normally do, Ill keep most of them relatively even. I’ll get them all to level 10 to start. Then I’ll bounce a bit on all of them until they get to level 20.
After that, I will pick 2 maybe 3 favorites and run with them to level 60.
Then I’ll go back and slowly work on the rest. I am on an RP server, so I’ll probably be doing more RP then leveling when I get to that point.

I’m going for 3 lv60 toons. Primarily focusing on my main, but leveling the others when they have rested xp.
I’ll be rushing to 60 on my Priest. I’ll probably have 3 different alts, which I’ll only play when they have maximized resting experience and only up to level 30 initially. All so I can have four different characters who can transmute arcanite.
I’ll be running all the alts all the time.
Whenever I get a good boe drop it’s never “I wonder what I can sell this for?” it’s always “I wonder which character can use this the most?”
I was thinking a good name for my own guild (just my characters and maybe a friend to help me put them in it) would be “Army of One”

First character isn’t going to be my main, since I am first recreating my original WoW character, an undead warlock. Once I get into Silverpine Forest, I’ll let his rest bonus build up a bit and make my actual main, a troll rogue. I also plan on a few other characters that I will likely start before the rogue can get to 60.
Multiple at once.
Mostly always going to be rotating through rested xp.

I am creating a full stable of characters, including my bank alt, and I’ll figure it out from there. Plan on my rogue being my main but I do love me some hunter action. Also warriors and priests are HOT!. Well, there is also…

This is one of the best reasons to run alts; I totally forgot about how useful it is to have characters simmering in the background waiting to be played and getting the most out of that time.
1 of each class and you’ll hit them each just once every 6 days and get all the aspects of gameplay. I do suggest rolling different races and running different zone to help curb burnout if you’re ‘power-leveling alts’

To be honest, this is more a concern to me. Like, I already have few time to manage my alts on Retail, can you imagine in Vanilla where gold is scarce and leveling takes so much more time.
What I’m actually doing is leveling an alt with a friend (rogue since it’s a bit slower to level) when they play, then leveling a mage by myself. He’s only able to play about 3 days a week.
