I am thinking of leveling a demon hunter. I was wondering how the specs play in both leveling and dungeons and what people’s experiences are when they leveled a Demon Hunter.
Just really curious about how the class plays in Dragonflight and if it’s worth giving a try.
They recieved a lot of nerfs over the months and are mediocre at best.

Vengeance or havoc ?
Vengeance is mediocre. It doesnt have many tools to play around. Easy to learn, hard to master.
Havoc is doing well in all contents, top tier for m+. Momentum is frustrating af, but overall, easy to learn.
I am looking at either spec, again as i daid just curious how people fond playing any demon hunter right now
First of all, you will zoom all over the place lol. So if you choose to tank, keep in mind that you do not outrun the healer as it is very easy to do.
I am not very fond of Vengeance tanking since the talent tree came out. They took away a wonderful talent that helped so much with aggro and threat on pull (abyssal strike). The way Vengeance is now is… disappointing. Vengeance has received nerfs just because Havoc was doing too much in PVP. Rather than focusing on Havoc PVP, they have applied the nerfs to DH as a whole. As a result, we are squishy and not where we should be.
We have 3 out of the 4 covenant abilities from Shadowlands on the tree (I personally think this stuff should have been kept in Shadowlands, it does not feel very demon huntery. One of the talents, Fodder to the Flame, is insanely annoying). You rely a lot on sigils and spirit bomb. Previously, I was not a spirit bomb user, and now I feel like I have to spec into it. The first pull you do on a pack is frustrating due to them taking away the abyssal strike talent. It takes a few seconds to get aggro and build fury. Because of this, I’ve found I have to be very cautious about spending fury and using my spirit bomb.
Being at the bottom compared to other tank classes is… deflating. We have been neglected this whole expansion so far and have received nothing but nerfs.
Havoc is fun. As others have mentioned, yes the spec has been nerfed at least three times since pre patch. Yes you will have to use momentum in order to have good DPS. I will not say any further as I do not main Havoc.

DH is a really good class at max level. It’s super fun to level too. A combination of big burst CDs, leech, and defensives mean you will just constantly mow down mobs with little to no downtime.
