Leveling 70-80 better be FAST or RIP Casuals

While exploration and (vehicle) combat will be fun and enjoyable, doing variations on the quest “kill 10 bears” 500x will cause LOADS of casuals to quit…

Meanwhile while they call this the “BEST” expansion, well a lot has changed in 15 years. Including the patience of the average MMO casual.

Let me remind you on August 29, 2019 when the queues were huge and classic was popular. My levelling guild has hit 400 members.

Fast forward to just before Phase 2 and most people have been offline at weeks… all stuck at level 30-45.

RIP to all the casual MMO players killed by the tedium of questing. The wheel of history revolves and the fate of Northrend hangs in the balance.

Dungeon grind bro it takes 28 hours. Leveling from 70-80 is easy even casuals can do it. You’re really out of touch with the game.

Uh huh, right… avoids eye contact

It’s all over YouTube go search them up. Check the fusion guild video.

Huh?

Wrath had amassed about 10-12 million subs when it was current content. There’s no way everyone at level 80 back in the day were all hardcore, sweaty people…

I’m sure many WotLK tourists will quit. If casuals can’t make it to 80, whatever. That shouldn’t mean Blizzard needs to trivialize levelling in Northrend.

Eh I plan on duoing dungeons with a tank druid and my holy pally ez exp.

70-80 was never that bad. If you were around during Wrath, it was always the 1-70 grind that sucked. Getting to Northrend was the breath of fresh air. Even if its grindy, the zones were beautiful, the story was part of the questing, and you didn’t mind it taking a while because you were busy enjoying the game.

The average leveling time for 1-60 in Classic was 240 hours
In Wrath 70-80 is 30-50 hours

This is literally the casual expansion

i would believe it 100% if we didn’t already see a HUGE drop off in players during prepatch. Sounds like tourists and casuals are one and the same.

That was a bot banwave lmao

Add them to the list too.

Rip Casuals.

If you play in a pvp server Rip Casuals².

Yeah! Reduce level requirements for bots!

Your description of questing has basically been the game for like 18 years.

Blizzard is so smart. Give everyone death knights and let the invisible hand of the devs fix everything else.

You’re right. Most people that tried WoW never made it to level cap. Many never made it past level 10.

The majority of those 12 million subs were brand new players constantly joining, playing for a few weeks in the low levels, and quitting.

That isn’t even unique to WoW that’s video games in general, especially MMOs.

There is a reason that by MoP WoW had over 100 million unique accounts and peaked at only 12 million concurrent.

Attrition has always been bad.

You won’t be surprised then to see what the population trend of Wow has been for 10 years.

I wonder if any of the proposed changes had anything to do with that…

What the hell else is there to do right now? Gear up with subpar catch up gear to just replace it in a week of leveling?
