While exploration and (vehicle) combat will be fun and enjoyable, doing variations on the quest “kill 10 bears” 500x will cause LOADS of casuals to quit…
Meanwhile while they call this the “BEST” expansion, well a lot has changed in 15 years. Including the patience of the average MMO casual.
Let me remind you on August 29, 2019 when the queues were huge and classic was popular. My levelling guild has hit 400 members.
Fast forward to just before Phase 2 and most people have been offline at weeks… all stuck at level 30-45.
RIP to all the casual MMO players killed by the tedium of questing. The wheel of history revolves and the fate of Northrend hangs in the balance.
Wrath had amassed about 10-12 million subs when it was current content. There’s no way everyone at level 80 back in the day were all hardcore, sweaty people…
I’m sure many WotLK tourists will quit. If casuals can’t make it to 80, whatever. That shouldn’t mean Blizzard needs to trivialize levelling in Northrend.
70-80 was never that bad. If you were around during Wrath, it was always the 1-70 grind that sucked. Getting to Northrend was the breath of fresh air. Even if its grindy, the zones were beautiful, the story was part of the questing, and you didn’t mind it taking a while because you were busy enjoying the game.
