Level sync and Chromie time - Remove restrictions please

It’s been a while since this has been brought up, so I want to touch back on it.

The game currently offers two modes that allow players to scale to content. One is Chromie Time or the general leveling experience and the other is party sync, which allows you to group with someone and scale down to their level to replay content.

Now, I’m not a huge fan of scaling while leveling in lieu of things like the classic systems, that may change with the new talent trees coming in Dragonflight, but it does provide the chance at a “new game+” experience in WoW.

The ability to go back and clear out older content at level would be a huge win for those of us that play casually but like to invest in a handful of characters, rather than start fresh every time we want to experience the older world. Currently this ability depends on the availability of another player within the appropriate level range via Party Sync.

For those unaware, Party Sync is a toggle you may choose when you group with another player of lower level. It brings you down to their level and even allows you to replay quest chains you have already completed.

I (and I am sure many others) would love the ability to simply “party sync” ourselves to content at will. To make the world our sandbox whether it’s leveling a character beyond 50 (where Chromie time kicks us out of quest chains we’re enjoying) or sitting at max level and desire to wrap up Loremaster or another expansion zone at the intended level experience without having to create an entirely brand new character in order to properly enjoy it.

I can’t imagine removing the party requirement (or extending Chromie time) would require much in the way of development time, and many of us would have so much to gain from it, without it impacting anyone who would choose not to utilize it.

Cheers and thanks for reading.

Agree with you wholeheartedly. Without the option to toggle Chromie time on/off past level 50, content from old expansions becomes unfun as you one shot everything .

You can create a trial account and then use it to party synch and lower yourself down.

It’s an inelegant solution but it works.

I haven’t tried this, but if you have, can you log out on your main and pick back up where you left off?

Example, I make this trial account and I use it to party sync my latest alt obsession down to do the Suramar quest chain. Assuming I can actually do that with the trial account (I think Suramar has a level requirement), if I were to step away for a day and come back to enjoy my next gaming session, would it start that entire zone over again since my trial made no progress in the zone, or would I be able to pick back up where my other character left off?

You’d be back at square one.

Ah, so it’s not a good solution for casual play. Drat.

I only get like, an hour or two at most to sit and play at a given time. So I’d never actually get anywhere.

Still championing that solo level sync!

Yeah, I’d like that too.

Classic is waiting for you. Enjoy.

There’s no MoP classic, no WoD classic, no Legion classic, etc…

So, no it isn’t.
