Level Squish

Hi, apologies if this is in the wrong forum area, but I was curious if the level squish was functioning as intended.

I play many twink characters, and have found that many of them are no longer able to use items from their respective expansions or enter dungeons from them. For example my level 27 warrior which was previously 70 cannot do TBC heroic dungeons.

Is this just the new way? Has there been any word from Blizzard on this? If anyone has any information I’d greatly appreciate it! Thank you! :upside_down_face:

I can’t say for sure, I don’t have a toon right at 30 to do testing and stuff.

It looks like the end game level for Outlands is 30 now. Just judging based on the level requirement on drops from dungeons and the zone levels with chromie time off.

I leveled a paladin to max level. It works ok but dungeons IMO suck now. Everything takes 3X as long to kill. All in all I wish it didn’t exist.

Also artifact weapons are terrible. I got Ashbringer at level 40 and it had an ilvl of 20. The heirloom I was using at that time was 42 ilvl. Another change is you can’t get your Heart of Azeroth neck until level 50 now. Annoying because there are alot of named and quests you encounter in BFA that will simply drop nothing because you can’t get AP without the neck. Also you can’t get Azerite armor either the quest rewards are just standard ilvl armor.

Annoying because before the squish alot of players never had a reason to upgrade heirloom helm, shoulders, BP, Neck since at 110 they all had a rather high ilvl. Now that is all gone and you can feel it 40+. I think it feels worse now than 116 to 120 did before.

Solo stuff works fine but theres issues with group stuff and id like to know who the block head was that decided custom groups should be a lvl 50 up feature because now theres world mobs that use it but you cant find any groups ever.

Edit: yes i understand it was prob Ion

You have to go through Chromie I think mr

If the intention was to break all the things, then yes.

To be serious for a moment I think their intention was to make leveling faster and less of a long journey through parts of several expansions that you will out level 2 zones in and never finish. So from that perspective I think it accomplished that.

I wish it gave us more flexibility to pick and chose zones within the expansions like we can in Legion and BFA. Also wish there was a pretty cata vanilla option.
