So anyone else worried a the level squish?
This can cause problems for everything from Tmog/mount farming, levelers, twinkers, and people without all the xpacs( oddly yes they’re real).
So what do you guys think is going to happen with the level squish?
Yes I am. It sounds like they’re squishing XP along with levels so that is good. I just really hope they test the S out of it. I don’t want a year and a half of struff not working before it’s fixed.
During the item squish, a lot of raid bosses took a few weeks to fix cause they became not soloable.
Level squish I’m sure is gonna be a ton worse than even that. The level gap will be smaller, so the level difference is gonna be much smaller. The amount that can be soloed I’m very worried will be nerfed to the ground. As an unholy DK, I’ve soloed current BFA dungeons. I’m worried things like that won’t be possible in shadowlands
The most they couldn’t have is BFA. The base game includes everything up to Legion. When Shadowlands ships, the base game will include everything up to BFA.
However, I am worried about the consequences of the squish on power levels and the ability to solo old content. I quite enjoy the mindlessness of soloing old content at times. Well to be honest, more than dealing with other humans in society. As long as this is reserved, I can roll with the punches it brings. Things like transmog can be fixed easier than power level.
Im not scared of the level squish at all. Rather I welcome it.
More so theres so much he didnt shed any light on though as to whats going on.
New classes? Guild tools? New start experiences for every class? Does that involve demon hunters? Are we getting more of those? Soloing old content, Transmog restrictions, What other stuff simply hasn’t been mentioned yet?
what of the old world is getting revamped to match this?
how is Ilevel going to match? for 7 other expansions of items and effects??
My only concern with the squish now is I have a few alts that have been parked at different levels. Now I dunno if I should just wait until a few years from now to level those characters.
I’m concerned because I spend a lot of time in old content… and Blizz does not have an especially good track record of late with these types of things (scaling is still borked with some levels/mobs after 1.5 years). I’m trying not to be pessimistic but… you know.
In my opinion this was a must that had to happen, for wow to continue. When you consider a fresh character must rush through multiple expansions and get to level 120, that is quite a grind. Increasing the level beyond that point would just help bury the game. I am sure it wont come out correct or the way they intend, but non the less it is a need.
So I just hope that they learn from the power squish. Where everything was all kinds of messed up. I don’t know if anyone remembers I think it was the legion beta when low lvls could destroy 120s there are still YouTube videos of it.
Then there was the inability to solo old raids, and some old raid items weren’t scaled/fixed so after the squish they were insanely overpowered.
People freaked out like this when they announced the first stat squish. They’ve obviously taken it into consideration given how obvious of an issue it would be.
What is confusing me is that current level 120’s will go back to lvl 50 to go to 60 again, however if you pre-order Shadowlands, you get a 120 boost… So you can just imagine coming into the game for the first time and then using that 120 boost and then do one of the quest that puts you back to 50 and be like… wait… what happened to my level?
