Level squish raid soloing?

will the level squish effect soloing old raids? that’s my main way to earn gold, so i’m really, REALLY worried. :frowning:

This is the one thing I didn’t think about honestly. A lvl 100 compared to a lvl 120 is massive.

Where will lvl 100 raids stand when we’re lvl 60 “130”?

What about lvl 90 raids. Lvl 80 raids in there. etc. etc.

As long as they remove the 11 levels rule, it should be fine.

Maybe? Judging from the Blizzcon footage, a PTR 50 character is about on par with a fresh 120, so it doesn’t look like there’s a massive squish in terms of power.

But considering that Blizzard have already implemented bandaids to deal with squished character power in old content (hence why you hit for like a billion), it might get a bit messy there.

All Zones are being scaled to 10-50, and you may choose the content you wish to level in after completing the new 1-10 prologue experience.

You speak to Chromie to select your expansion.

99% chance no it won’t, but we’ll probably find out tomorrow.

They never did get the stat squish and scaling corrected. Alts I had at 100 could no longer, and still can’t solo Lich King 25.

Despite the empty assurances from blizzard and the “nothing to see here” white knight crowd, you just KNOW farming old raids will be rekt when the Great Regression takes place.

I know this.

Using basic math, 1-120 will now be 1-50. So that means basically around 2 and a half (2.4) levels in BFA currently will be 1 level in Shadowlands.

Although. If you take a lvl 80 and fight a lvl 60, the 80 seriously comes out on top with just normal gear. No heirlooms or special gear. Just standard green quest gear ON BOTH OF THEM etc.

In the level squish a lvl 80 will be like 33 or something. A lvl 60 will be 25.

So will a lvl 33 fighting a lvl 25 be the same thing as a lvl 80 fighting a lvl 60?

It’s not about the scaling. It’s not about how this works with scaling. It’s about how will power be from 1 level to the next.

The question is: Will they scale power 2.4 levels to 1 level how it is currently. That is keeping power the same. Otherwise the power dynamics change in the game.

There’s this on MMO-Champion;

Levels 1-10: A New Journey for New Players
New characters will embark on an introductory voyage to learn about everything there is to do in Azeroth, including your first mini-dungeon.

Levels 10-50: Pick Your Era
Play the latest expansion, Battle for Azeroth, or follow Chromie back in time and tackle any other expansion you choose, with challenges that scale to characters level 10–50.

Levels 50-60: Enter the Shadowlands
Step into Azeroth’s afterlife, and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with legends of the past as you fight to preserve the universe.

It says ‘dungeons’, hopefully that includes old raids and not just 5 mans.

I’d imagine it would be. I would doubt Blizzard would have the foresight to let you solo old 5 mans for transmogs, but not old raids.

pretty sure it says we will still overpower the content for transmog on the breakdown on wow head but who knows?

Don’t know about gold but they said we will still be able to run them for mogs or whatever

Honestly, just get to level 60 and you’ll be able to solo the old dungeon/raids.

It’s likely that old dungeon/raid will be scaled up to 50 max.

10 levels and Benthic gear was enough to faceroll Argus, aside from one mandatory interrupt. If we can’t stomp everything at 9.0 launch, we probably can by the time we’re in LFR gear.

Says that “You can still outlevel dungeons and crush them for transmogs or fulfillment.”

I assume the same applies to raids.

However I’d still like some more details on how it’s going to work just for my own peace of mind.
