why tho? they said it was going to take the same amount of time to level 0-60 as 0-120 does… i feel like this is just wasting dev time
They mean the amount of health we’re taking off enemies is the same regardless.

Its “scary” for new players to consider leveling to level 130 (likely max level if we continued as we have)
It fits classic player’s mind set if the max level is 60. Also isn’t as daunting for new players.
The squish is for new players not really meant to affect existing players.

Yes SL leveling is faster, 60% faster IIRC
Yah that’s what I read, shadowlands is faster. Except at this particular moment when we have that 100% xp buff.
But that’s a unique exception.
Expansions right now are on entirely different levels, so some number tuning has to happen to get them all on the same level field.
Leveling will actually be 60-70% faster overall than it is right now they said. 1-60 won’t take nearly as long as 1-120.
It’s for current players too. Leveling is a problem these days, it’s a severely flawed experience. All players benefit from leveling faster and more smoothly.
I agree its needed for a base design purpose, but in terms of our power levels in reference to mobs/bosses/etc. It does not affect us.
Hitting max level in shadowlands is likely to “feel” the same as max level in bfa.
Though I’m hoping open world content isn’t as rough as bfa was in that 10 level gap.
After leveling a mage I felt that was the roughest bit of leveling. Ended up herbing and dungeoning the last 7 levels cause questing was like stabbing myself.

If I do 50 points to something with 1000 health, its no different than doing 5 points to something with 100 health.

If SL fails to bring in a rush of new players suddenly comfortable with the game’s numbers, can we abandon the silly notion that it’s the numbers that are daunting and not the fact that it’s a 15 year old game?
The level squish is retarded and unnecessary. It only appeals to those who want to “skip to the end”.
Why not 500 for 10000 health?
