Stat squish I can understand but the lvl squish is not high enough to effect the server. That is the point I making the Dev. (Not the server’s) can’t handle higher levels.
It’s never a good idea to go backwards on anything, Forward always seems more successful.
I am ridiculously excited for the level squish. 120 levels isn’t just daunting for new players, it’s daunting for those of us who have hobbies outside of WoW. The fact that I can hit cap on a character by playing through an expansion of my choice plus Shadowlands actually makes me want to finish leveling alts.
The level squish is a great idea.
Then fix spellbooks, stats and professions. The level change does nothing.
It’s too late to change, but I still hate this awful argument.
People reading the back of the box will just know that going from level 1 to 120 sounds far more daunting than 1 to 60, even if play time is the same. Its just psychological, but the effect is very real.
Biggest problem is how many people out there havent played wow and are looking to start.
There is no sense of progresssion.
- Your character gets no new talents
- Your character gets no new abilities
- All power to your character is external/rental
- Content-and-ilevel-scaling-to-player robs any sense of progression
Level squishing will just make these deficits even more apparent.
Let me reiterate. Blizz wants to make it so that every level up has weight to it, as opposed to gaining 10+ levels without actually gaining much. The level squish will help address this
I know what you meant, but again - it’s an illusionary change. You might get a new toy when you occasionally flash gold, now - but you’re still spending the same amount of time doing the exact same thing.
The professions are still garbage, the character growth is still going to be absolutely meaningless before level cap, you’re still going to have a barren spellbook due the the prune and you’re still going to roll over the early levels with absolutely no effort or threat to your life.
The only good change is how you can reach SL content by just doing your expansion of choice, but again - this doesn’t require a prune to implement.
Hopefully the un-pruning of classes will revive some amount of class fantasy. I’m just happy that leveling will be faster overall now and that I can skip WotLK leveling
Professions are still garbage though.
