Level squish i don't think a good ideal

here is my suggest level squish if wow last 5 more years your going run into the same problem. a simple solution is bring back the talent tree to lvl 60 then at begin of 61-130 doing a merit system for rest this something ffxi did. my suggest is doing merit basic system per every 2 lvl. in this way no matter if you have 150 lvl you still can use merit system which can be use improve you class

No thanks. I can’t wait for the level squish.

I think the level squish is good. It might be 6 to 12 years before we’re back at 120.

I don’t think anyone really has a good solution for ridiculous level times and new players not being daunted by 120+ levels of leveling.

The 60 squish I think is for classic players considering retail. A closer association with classic.

Maybe something good will be thought of by next expac.

That’s not a “simple solution”.

The old talent tree was a mess. Adding to it and making it LARGER would only make the problem worse, no matter how you try to spin it.

Level squish is better.

my suggest isn’t make it large it is simple to add merit system to the game which is alittle different

they already offer one free lvl 120 character

Level squish is proof that no amount of player progression is sacred. It is also smoke and mirrors.

Doesn’t matter… the last thing I want id the old talent trees back. Plus anything over 100 levels is ridicules.

You’re not losing any progression.

I’m mostly curious whether the plan is to delevel us at the end of every expansion, so the leveling experience is always 1-50, with each expansion just adding a new path to 50 when it’s “retired”, and how they’re going to sell that to the player base.

Future expansions can leave the character level alone. Since the game gates behind item level, reputation, and achievements. Character level is obsolete now.

I see most games going this route now, that level is simply antiquated, when in the face of scaling.

Is 50 less then 120?

If we keep going up 10 levels every xpac they are going to do it eventually. Also are they going to make “every level matter” for the next xpac as well?

They seem to be setting the game up for modular game play. They broke apart professions by expac, they created “expac only” rental progression systems, and now each expac is its own “base game”.

I won’t be at all surprised if, come 10.0, we’re leveling from 50 to 60 again, and Shadowlands is slotted in next to all the other 1-50 expacs. The pieces are in place for them to do it, I’m just not sure how they’ll explain it to players.

A number isn’t progression. :man_facepalming:

Here’s another reason it’s a terrible idea. For those who want to be at lower level they can just off experience at that level. For those of us opposed to the level squish our only option is to quit.

I like that idea. I think not going back above 60 is a great idea.

I sometimes think that wouldn’t be such a terrible thing. My life was better before I started playing this game.

I’m not opposed to it, honestly. It would make more sense than going back to “okay, now that you’ve picked the expac you want to level through, you have to do the rest in order until we squish levels again.” And the pieces are in place for it. I just wonder if the players will be on board.

No you have the option to continue playing just like everyone else. What it you think you’re losing??
