Level scaling makes leveling boring

Here’s one from May. You’re welcome.

Fantastic, thanks

Level scaling is why I quit ESO back in the day. it wasn’t fun.

I used to enjoy doing lvl 43 quests at 31. Was how I made my challenge. -_- Now there’s just… none and that’s the general consensus there.

…Ya know, even if that’s the case, why make it even more boring with level scaling? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

If you’re leveling a character for the first time, then it can be a rough experience as you get higher as some gear can be hard to find.
If you’re leveling an Alt, then I’d highly recommend investing in Heirlooms. They level as you level thus making leveling a good deal easier.

I see no issue with it since I quest for upgrades and don’t just grind dungeons.

that honestly doesn’t matter as the same mobs im fighting shouldn’t feel like a bigger pain the more i level, it’s not fun to level and feel weaker. Saying to update your gear is pathetic, its blizzard job to make the game better, we shouldn’t have to do that for them.

You get gear every single quest.

Also it keeps rare enemies somewhat dangerous instead of you outleveling what should have been endzone challenges.

whats the point of leveling if i’m not getting stronger? whats the point if literally everything gets stronger with you? whats the point of leveling? it’s a boring chore because leveling doesn’t feel rewarding at all.

You are getting stronger, you get more abilities, and most of the regular mobs are level capped anyway.

You also will likely not hugely overpower a zone’s silver+ grade creatures unless you hugely outlevel the zone so that the ends of questlines and major mini bosses are still somewaht challenging.

this is objectively wrong.

you’re funny.this made me laugh.

Leveling has always been boring in WOW, it’s at least fast and efficient.

I mean depends against what? Trash doesn’t seem to get more powerful by all that much as you level

I thought everyone complained about how boring leveling was because it didn’t provide any challenge? Now the mobs are too strong? What gives?

It’s this.
Leveling starts off so easy it would be ridiculous to make you even stronger. So instead of reducing the number of hits to kill quest mobs, you feel it in being a more skillful version of that class.

They do need to fix scaling…its ridiculous as it is for reasons you mention, but scaling itself is fantastic. ESO does it really good.
A river troll will snuff you at lower levels…and when you get higher you’ll be snuffing it.

I find it VERY hard to believe after all this time that they cant fix it…so Im left with believing that when you get into current content that the reason you start getting weaker is intentional…its to FORCE you to now start gear grinding so you arent being three shot by world trash.
Thats my conspiracy theory anyway…otherwise are we saying blizz devs are THIS flipping bad with math?
I doubt it.

I think its more that thing where you get higher in level, but weaker against world crap and such, until you hit max and then get your ilvl to X before you get as strong as you were whenyou first hit the content in green questing gear lol.

I like challenge, I dont like the challenge being almost paradoxical lol

That was like almost 20 years ago, TBC called and said the ‘leveling to 60 is the game’ model changed in 2007.

I dont know the reasons behind it, but im playing the mop prepatch in classic, and im finding levelling more fun than i do in retail.

Retail feels like youre just going through the motions. Just sorta zoned out. In classic it feels like much more of an adventure.
