Level Cap and Well Rested XP Bonus

Curious what your guys thoughts/guesses are on this.

We aren’t accruing Well Rested at level cap. However, if you levelled a toon to level 24 and 95% into the next level, would you accrue Well Rested bonus into level 25 and 26?

I may be wrong but I have an unresearched suspicion that the level cap is achieved by turning off XP gains once you hit level 25. Unlike the 60 cap, where presumably there is code to confirm that this is the end of the levelling journey and there is no level 61. If so, that theoretically means you could wait at just below the cap and trick the game into storing Well Rested bonuses for the next phase for an extremely brief head start.

Am I mad? Or has this already been tested in TBC and WotLK pre-patches?

Rested has a max of 1.5x your current level assuming they don’t just have it coded to hard cap rested at the current level cap and only affects exp from kills. There’s no way that’s worth more than just doing dungeons/BFD for gear that will make grinding/dungeoning faster for a much longer period. Fully geared BFD players can easily kill mobs 2 times faster than a fresh 25 that had to cut themselves off gear wise wherever they were to prevent from capping.

Pretty much my thoughts also. My hunter is walking death, was not at lvl 24.

I was thinking the same thing RE higher iLvl items. It was a hypothetical rather than a practical question.

It feels like Blizzard has tried to cut corners where possible in implementing changes for SoD. I could be wrong but I have my doubts they wrote a new code to actually cap levelling at 25 when they could just used existing code to turn off XP gains at 25.
