Level and stat squishes: a permanent solution

They would have more reason to stay if thing weren’t constantly taken from them. This system of use and dispose make people wonder why they would have had in the first place and wasted time makes people upset. We from the start have nothing to carry with us through the game from expanse to expanse.

I agree with you, BfA has been a massive downgrade on pretty much every level, and after gutting the classes, gameplay, and endgame design so badly, a stat squish on top of that just seems like insult to injury. The whole thing I was trying to express however is represented on this image that was kindly provided by Zoumz (thank you very much).

Left is how it is now, right is what this thread is proposing. If the design was like on the right, then even if out of the 7 spokes on the wheel, one of those spokes were broken (BfA) then you’d still have 6 spokes. You’d have a reason to stay and more things to do, but when its a line you never have a reason to go backwards on the line (like it is on the left).

And if you didn’t want to do the other 6 spokes, you could just do the one you wanted to do and only that one, and that’d be totally okay. You aren’t forced into doing all 7 spokes like you are now.

EDIT: I wanted to post Zoumz excellent image, but unfortunately Blizzard won’t let me do that, so you’ll have to scroll up if you want to see exactly what I mean, its post 76 in this thread.

That why I wanted a diagram ,as you see in B on the right if we were to even have one stoke it would symbolize the basic structure It has end point nothing else where does this go from there? it doesn’t it become a circumvent back on itself.and the cycle continues even if we place another one in.This means the number remain the same with no forward progress.

Problem is it is stuck in a loop.I’m not saying that the proposal is wrong, but it has to have motion to progress than a repeated pattern.Have to understand people are not a calculation in numbers but more of a progression of there value.

I think we may forget about squish.

Just enable dynamic level-walking mode. Players can go back to specific level of an expansion to experience challenges of that time. Then we can go back to MoP challenges, Legion tower challenges, no cheating green fire quest, and even different set of raid achievements, etc.

Rewards are only offered if you complete by level-walking or during the expansion. We don’t need to completely remove stuff from game now. Win-win.

In that case, right, you can obtain “Glory of the Legion Hero” only during Legion expansion or level-walking back to level 110. You can’t complete it at level 120 super easy mode.

I mean, your idea is the second option anyway since you’re letting them skip most of the game.

Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms are going to look very confusing to a new person.

Even with the squish, there’s at least some sense of progression from level 1 to level 120. Your idea would basically toss that all out in the garbage.

You’re deliberately ignoring that this new convenience will be about 90% less of a boost compared to what they get now.

There’s a fine line between bigger and cluttered and your idea is on the far end of cluttered. Having too many choices can be paralyzing.

Increasing queue times by a factor of 10 is an objectively bad idea.

Nope. I’m just saying your idea isn’t the way to do it. But I guess that’s because you’re too wrapped up in your idea to recognize how many faults it has.

You’re not providing a permanent solution though, you’re just accelerating the squish cycle.
