So I took a screenshot so I could reference the numbers from it and why this needs to be fixed ASAP. It’s actually ruining the experience of PvP while leveling up, and a lot of people enjoy that way of grinding out levels.
This BG was a CTF map, the level 70 player was a hunter
Hunter’s damage - 7.7 mil
Second top damage in BG - 3 mil
Hunter’s killing blows - 44
Second top killing blows - 20 (On same team as hunter of course)
We had one healer, but the hunter was killing them so fast they literally couldn’t cast spells
Blizzard please fix this stupidity so players like myself can actually level the way we want to by random BGs. Don’t force us to play other content to level up because you’re too lazy to deal with problems before level 70.
+1, 100% agree with you. This applies to all BG brackets - not just 61-69. I’m currently level 20 and almost every match is decided by who has more scaled down 70’s players.
Blizzard, please prevent players from being able to queue for pvp together if they aren’t in the same level bracket to begin with.
Here are some stats from my recent Arathi Basin (21-29)
Evoker: 121k damage
Was gonna say something similar. Saw a disc priest in the 30-39 bracket get a dozen or so kills and do 150k damage, 350k heals in a bracket where the avg health pool is 5-8k. The enemy team even had 3 mm hunters all attacking them at the same time, still didn’t go down lol
A Priest died and then we get threads written by them to nerf Hunters or else!
Meanwhile there are other outliers running rampant, topping both charts (dps/heals) sounds manageable.
I honestly hate leveling up from quests, and dungeon queues are decently long on a DPS. I’d love to be able to level up the way I want (by doing battlegrounds) without each match being decided by how many level 70’s each team has.
For an expansion that is suppose to be alt friendly, seems like they basically killed the fun of leveling alts in PvP
It does appear to be happening a lot. I thought it was for some kind of event at first but at this rate it does seem to be getting steadily messier for random queues in the leveling bracket. I’ve still managed to max a few alts through a mix of PvP and questing lately, but I won’t deny it’s been a nuisance getting into matches that are basically guaranteed losses because one team has geared 70’s in sync’d brackets, or even people using pvp gear from the last expac which …I’d think should have been completely obsolete once the new expac rolled out but, apparently that isn’t the case?
It’s kind of funny, I didn’t even know this was a thing that could be done and seeing how things have developed has really opened my eyes! I guess we’ll see how bad it does get before Blizz decides to act on it or not.
Max level PvP can get pretty bad too but, that’s not necessarily just a gear issue. Conquest gear scaling so much higher than Honor gear does seem a bit extreme but, as best as I can tell certain classes are just really, really tuned. I main a Fury Warrior and generally perform well enough. I don’t know if I’d be able to defeat a Conquest geared character solo but, I know I’ve been able to help bring them down when I’ve encountered one in a BG. Marksmanship Hunters are REALLY strong from what I’ve seen, and I recently geared Ariiah here to max honor gear. Haven’t got around to properly pvping through max level bgs yet but …soon enough.
But yeah, it does seem like something’s gone wrong with the way leveling bracket PvP works at the moment.
The Gaslight Brigade will be here any minute. They definitely will show up to bust out all of their greatest hits about why 70s in low level BGs aren’t the problem…you are!
Look, it is what it is. Blizzard is either:
A. Too incompetent to realize allowing players with 75k HP and 190k HP in the same bracket is bad for the game.
B. Decided to cater to people that enjoy having 190k HP and seal clubbing the players with 75k hp.
It would be comically easy to fix and there are several different ways to do it. They just don’t care, or think it’s working as intended. IDK, maybe they did surveys and focus groups years ago and determined seal clubbers were the most profitable player-type to cater to.
“70’s in full conquest gear scaled down”
if you use this statement or anything like it as your example you have no idea how partysnc works and probably keyboard turn on top of just being bad at pvp.
it cracks me up every time i see it.
I’ve felt like the party sync feature has been broken for a while now but anytime its brought up players are quick to defend it saying it balances everything out but the numbers dont add up for a long time now. also theres a reason a level 70 or otherwise is queueing down and its 100% not just “playing with friends” its just another advantage and another disrespectful feature to pvp when lazily tuned if these players were doing less damage than everyone i wouldnt care at all or even notice them. which WAS usually the case for this feature.
And your ACKSHUALLY reply cracks me up every time I see it. I just finished a BG on my 62 warlock and guess what? Top damage on the horde team was a 70 warlock in conquest gear, and they did double the damage of the next closest person. I must just be extraordinarily unlucky I guess to keep seeing this statistical phenomenon!
But I believe and I’m SURE the next time I see it, it will be a 68 in BOAs that is doubling up the rest of the team in output. Any day now…
you’re one of the players who have no idea how this game works and it shows.
you can’t level boas up for that bracket yet.
maybe the “conquest geared” player has more pvp experience but their template while syncd is the same as a fresh 70 in quest greens. why don’t you do some research for yourself instead of leveling more under geared alts? i mean if you enjoy leveling bgs so much maybe gear for it?im betting that lock you’re leveling has zero crafted 316 pieces just like the paladin you’re posting on. you cant gear for pvp while playing leveling bgs the drops are garbage.
no pvp trinkets. so close yet so far away. now get to 70 and sync down so you can see how it actually works. or keep crying here you’re having trouble with players at the top of the bracket while you’re at the bottom.
