Level 50-60 where?

so with the announcement that chromie time will be available all the way to 60 where do you suggest I level besides Shadowlands? I did not enjoy that expansion content and I can’t see myself leveling any more characters there.

I’d recommend not doing shadowlands then

You can never go wrong with Mists.

WoD is relatively quick and simple

I think that BFA will become part of Chromie Time, and SL will be the xpac where new players are shuffled, so for you anywhere. I’m not certain of the above, but when Chromie Time was implemented, I’m pretty sure that’s how they said it would go.

No. Blizzard already clarified you go to BFA then Dragon Isles if you’re new. Shadowlands is in Chromie Time.

I just wish Chromie Time didn’t end. Imagine how cool it would be if all of those raids were balanced around being at level cap in chromie time and we had permanent time walking with extra rewards.

BfA, WoD and MoP are the best expansions to level through. Legion and SL are both good efficiency wise as well but the zones are lame imo.

I always do WoD now - that is the best leveling content imo

Was that actually announced that Chromie time would go to 60? I haven’t seen it said officially.

I hope that is the case.

Yes it has been announced

While the game nudges you to BFA, even a brand new player doesn’t have to do that.

The rest of the game and it’s quests are still there, still in their scaled level ranges that existed prior to chromie time.

Can do vanilla (Cata?) zones for a while, jump to Outland/Northrend for a bit, jump to Cata/MoP, then WoD and Legion, etc. in a rough order.

I’ve always been partial to Outland. The quests and enemies are simplistic which lends to hitting up a quest hub, grabbing 15 quests, putting on some music, getting in the zone, and questing which I find harder to do with newer expansions with “drip feed” railroad-style questing, especially MoP and newer where you have to sit and wait for an NPC to RP for 10 minutes every 5 quests.

Based on what I see on newcomer chat, many new players are leveling in old zones because it’s their preference or they’re unaware they’re supposed to be questing in BFA.

Don’t you get the option to bail and go to Krasarang or Kun Lai very early in Valley’s questline?

Legion has the best story of the three ‘modern’ expansions with all the ‘modern’ mechanics.

omg! Imagine a new player going to SL first!

Mist’s or WoD - had fun in both places - actually had fun in them all! Love Suramar City, but it’s a pain if you go without backup or people around *generally speaking as well.

MoP is probably my favourite to level through, but the zones are so big and you have so many quests to do that you can only fully complete maybe two of them.

Legion is also a lot of fun. Plenty of variety in zones and stories (though overarching legion plot, obviously.)

WoD, despite the expansion’s negative reputation, has an awesome leveling experience. That’s a pretty fun one–especially if you’ve never done it.

Cata’s not bad, as it still retains some of the more modern quest design and fluidity to the stories.

BFA leveling’s not bad if you’ve never done it before. If you have, I’d skip it but there are some cool stories in some of the zones.

Wotlk/BC I never recommend or really level through them anymore despite enjoying them in the past because they’re a bit of a slog in comparison to the newer stuff.

Shadowlands should be skipped 100% of the time. The expansion needs to just be forgotten.

Pandaland, WoD, Legion are all good. I love Pandaland and WoD the most.
