I'm sure many of you are going to file this in the "it isn't end game so I don't care" folder. That's fine, you can move along.
I skipped Legion. However after coming back for BFA I do want to go through all the content and PvP while I do it as well because I enjoy PvP.
Coming back in for BFA I not only leveled this toon through Legion but also redid a warlock and a druid from 0 to 110 also. I only mention this to point out I pvp'd the entire time leveling through and had a blast with all of the other pvp brackets. I never really encountered a bracket where someone was ridiculously OP.
Then I hit 110. And omfg what happened.
After hitting 110 I have realised the bracket is literally pointless unless you are a hardcore twink or youve decided NOT to move onto BFA. Holding on tight through some very ugly BG's and getting some purples out of dungeons I have managed an epic gear score of 175. That gives me 22k health in ret.
Mind you the best piece of gear out of PvP was a titanforged piece at ilvl 205. Even if I was lucky enough to get a Titanforged for every slot it still would not make up for the people running around in ilvl 285-300 I have seen in the 110 Bracket.
Unlike lower brackets where even if you ran into a twink the gear wasnt a huge gap... in 110 it seems to be a MASSIVE gap. 22k health in ret vs a 60k ret paladin i saw earlier today... even priests and mages with double my health. Is this seriously meant to be fun? And the PvP gear system is obviously not making up for this mechanically when the rewards for pvping arent coming near what these guys are wearing.
Effectively the 110 bracket is dead unless you go out and twink yourself. Mythics and Raid level gear as a requirement for even being viable in a previous xpac bracket? Whats the point of it considering BFA is out? All its doing is killing the PvP game for people like me who are working their way through Legion content until we are ready to move on into BFA.
I think Blizz should implement an ilvl filter to keep people who are over ilvl 225 away from the lower end of the bracket.

I've had a few BGs where Discipline twinks get top kills, top dps, top healing and least deaths. They are like raid bosses, and I've even seen some premades running 2-3+ Disc Priest and there is no counter for that.
If that is not a total godbuild I don't know what is.
This is an RPG which cannot and should not be balance. But you at least have to fix the extreme outliers.

Go get the azerite gear man. The neck plus first piece takes 5 minutes to get and the other 2 take a few hours of doing the main quests.
Also you are exaggerating. Most twinks have around 45k-50khp, 55k with Fort buff.
Once you get the azerite gear the difference is minimal, then its just Mythic Antorus gear youd be missing which isnt a big deal.
Your problem is having 0 azerite gear and no neck that takes 5 minutes to get.

Its only 1 level you can out level it in 30min anyway just do that and move to 111 bracket

But I dont have BFA yet...
SO i need to have BFA already, in order to be competitive at the previous xpac level?

first I think you're taking this way too serious..
most of the "twinks" users I read on this forum their only purpose is to "smash noobs".
if you dont want to buy BFA, don't but you're indeed missing things like everyone pointed already..
and second you can always try to join antorus runs if you're trying that hard to twink specially on mythic..

Probably a bad choice of words using "competitive" . I mean viable.
As I said I like to PvP as I level and go through the previous content. IT just feels as though in order to be viable at 110 that you HAVE to put in way more investment and gaining a high gearscore than you should to simply be able to enjoy it and not be completely run over.
In the previous brackets as well, there was a separation between those in the "0" end level for that Xpac (ie brackets were 50-59. 60-69. and once you hit the end of that xpac you were moved into the next bracket so you couldnt necessarily overpower those 10 levels under). This does not exist at 110 seemingly.
I dont want to twink myself and stay in this bracket - I will eventually move into BFA once my partner and I are done going through the older content. However I think the point is that in no other level bracket is there such a massive differential between gearscores. It seems that at 110 if you ARENT going to twink then you may as well not bother with the pvp at all because youre just going to get rocked by twinks, or legion players who arent moving on to BFA. I get way more honor and fun playing the Warlock at level 100-109 than at 110.
SO essentially by engaging level 110 to get to the end of Legion content, you also sign a waiver saying youll be farm trash in PvP.

Unfortunately yes you do, the BFA Azerite gear is a pretty big advantage.
Id recommend getting BFA or if not play another bracket like 29s or 39s where BFA gear doesnt matter
It's possible to be competitive as a healer without bfa gear but you'll need, like, heroic antorus gear to compensate.
If you don't wanna buy bfa I would heavily recommend finding a different bracket because it's a disgusting difference in stats right now.
On the upside, there's a rare mob that drops a headpiece and a rare mob that drops a chestpiece, so if you do pick up bfa you can take the shoulders from the quest and kill those two mobs and basically be ready for pvp.

Completely true man.
Like the post above mentioned, try playing some other brackets.
They are very active and the balance/gearing is amazingly done.
Anyone tried making a twink for that bracket + chain running island expeditions with xp off just to level the neck up? could easily get an extra +100 crit haste mast, +100 stam, and +50 main stat just for grinding it out which is pretty nuts at 110.
You mean you cant take a whole xpac off, while not buying the new xpac...and still not kick !@# when you log in?
What the hell kind of game is this????
Its almost like you have to put some effort (and sometimes RL money) into this game to enjoy it.

Of course you have to buy BfA. It’s not like you start this expansion at level 111.

Well genius.
I guess the point is that if you dont have BFA yet, then you are capped at level 110.
And YET
That puts you int he same bracket as people who DO have BFA or potentially, at the least, have played Legion for a year.
No other bracket does that.
If blizzard is going to allow people to use BFA gear, stats, etc beyond the scope of Legion then they should PUT THEM into a BFA bracket, ya know... like every other bracket does. Or, even better concept, separate a different ilvl bracket for those 225+.
For some reason the sense of this seems to be evading you elitists.
I just got out of a match where 6 of the 10 hordies had over 40k health. Including a 55k health BALANCE druid whose DoTs alone were enough to kill anyone who didnt get a heal. Witht he exception of 1 warrior, my whole team had 20k health pools or less.
No chance.
Horde held ontot he 3rd flag and wouldnt cap either just to farm easy kills with a Paladin and Demonhunter standing on the res pad... and us lesser geared fledglings couldnt do anything about it other than stay as ghosts.
Its ridiculous.
Put aside your egos for 5 seconds and lets ask the question. What point is there to play in the level 110 bracket if you dont have an entry-level BFA gearset? And then further to that point... realise 110 isnt BFA, its still LEgion.
All of you moppets saying "go get BFA gear" to compete in a NON BFA LEVEL Que are really deluded. Either that or you have so little PvP skill yourself the only thing left for you to do is farm based purely on your higher gearscore alone. I cant really figure out which is which.

And to hammer it home.
If its literally the mindset that in order to play at level 110 you HAVE to purchase the next expansion - then that is as misguided a concept as anyone has been shelling out.
If you believe that bull!@#$ Ive got a great Timeshare offer for you in the Caribbean.

Get your gear like the others. Shh.
your gear isnt even good by legion standards so why do you expect to be competitive?
I just came on here because I had the same issue -- was carrying BGs in other brackets then turned level 110 and got destroyed. I begrudgingly did some bfa questline and now i have the Heart of Azeroth and 1 azerite piece. I have yet to try BGs again, we'll see. I am confused about the brackets. Is each level it's own bracket? Everyone in the BG was level 110.
I used to enjoy PVE but now it's boring for me... so I also don't know what to do. Hoping the BG item upgrades will help, assuming I can compete with a few BFA items. Is it mandatory to do PVE content to gear up or can I get good pieces from BGs like before?
