Level 100 again?

Bit of a stretch here but are we headed back to level 100 once the last titan expansion comes out ??

It wouldn’t be hard to argue precedent: to go all the way to 120 again before resetting to 60 (again).

I’ll just go on record here and state what I’m sure is a MASSIVELY unpopular opinion:

All of the “progression” I feel in this game comes from gear. Level, certainly in the retail game, is utterly meaningless.

If we went from 80 to just 81 in the next expac, I couldn’t care less.

On most of my alts, I level so fast, I don’t even bother to take my Hero talents. They don’t make that much of a difference. I just wait til I hit 80 and just fill in all the bubbles like I’m snapping bubble wrap. lol

Leveling is pointless in WoW. Gear is all that matters.

they really just need to leave lvl cap 80 and just add gear that changes over the expansion and gets stronger with each expansion

I will say when my alts went from level 100 and level 90 to the level squish of shadowlands to now being level 30 or 40 I was very unmotivated to play them going forward

If they nerf our levels again, im out. Have a lot of toons.

This would mean, that my level 90 they nerfed to level 45 would now be nerfed to level 22.5 and that my level 22.5 should be able to farm any raid in Wotlk. etc… etc…

Should bring back 5 level expansions imo. Or finally hard cap levels and add a paragon system in the form of expanded hero talents.

I’m of a certain mindset. Keep people max 60. But the gear gets better and better each expac. Maybe have some ability mutations. But yeah. No more levels.

I agree i said that back before they got to level 100.

Just add paragon, every ten levels of paragon (equal to one character level) would unlock a level, talent, boost, whichever.

I’d be willing to put money on another squish tbh. Want to say the first time around they mentioned when numbers become too large on a large scale, it begins to impact performance.

Unless they’ve made some strides in that area, I imagine we’ll be getting rolled back again.

Hopefully. Because a level squish doesn’t make sense to do anymore.

That’s item level and damage numbers, not character levels.

The level squish was mostly done as a band aid fix until they could fix the talent system.

make every level meaningful and cap the levels at 10 forever

like a real old MMO where levels matter

I fully expect another level squish in the future. Squishes are something Blizzard likes to do to lower numbers. Levels, stats, ilvl, and now Mythic Plus.

We’re getting another stat squish with Midnight. Will likely see an ilvl squish as well there. I wouldn’t be surprised if they did a level squish at some point after the Worldsoul Saga, but I wouldn’t expect it during.

Another M+ squish will also probably happen in a few expansions when we’re back up to having meaningless key levels again.

Once they introduced scaling, this became 100% true.

What is the point at all of leveling if you are just going to make the world scale to your level anyways?

We are indeed

Probably.

I have one character that is still level 17 after the last level squish. I really haven’t had the desire to level her up again. She’ll be what? Level 7 after the next one? Might as well just delete her now.

I don’t really understand this. The character wasn’t max level, it would have been level 39-40 ( Shadowlands Leveling Changes & Level Squish - Wowhead ) so you would have had to level 80 times to reach 120, as opposed to just 33 times to get to 50 at the start of the level squish, and 43 times to get to 60 once SL launched. It was less work…

Maybe it is less work but it is demoralizing mentally. Basically it feels like what effort you did put into things was just thrown away. At least to me.

Not that Blizzard will listen to anything I say. They will squish if they want to but it still feels sucky.

leveling is just a placebo.
You cant do X until you get to level Y.
and we all run and run and run…lmao
