Its been so long since i stepped foot in a LFR…
I remember in WoD, think it was Issikar or something, the scepter encounter everyone sucked at. I used to just tag the boss and jump off the edge, hope to get loot for an alt.

Burn out pretty real for mains too.
This, BFA is barely enough fun the first play through.
God i hated that fight.
Oh it was the worst to pug. Even with the addon it was still aids… people just couldnt figure it out or not tunnel the boss
Guessing people just held on to the orb and wiped the entire raid with the beam of death?
That or they were blown off from the high winds lol.
I’d take any poll on these forums with a giant grain of salt. A lot of people probably went with the “don’t need no stinkin’ cloak” option just to be funny.
Durumu from MoP was also amusing. He would death beam at least half the raid all the way until the end of the expansion.
Content, quests to do the raid, mogs?, etc.
We are all not belles of the ball, so the only way we see a raid is LFR.
LFR isn’t for free loot, it’s to learn the mechanics. If you can’t follow the MOST BASIC mechanic of doing a simple quest to unlock a cloak for free, they obviously shouldn’t be queuing up in the first place.
Wouldn’t be shocked if this is the case for some of the posters here.
I think they have designed themselves into a corner. They keep pushing systems to the point it eats away from player time in other activities (eg raiding, PVP, etc).
They were not meeting participation goals. They can’t imagine that players would look at the content, the cloak, and corruption and just say, “nope”. That’s what people have been doing.
They couldn’t admit that they misjudged the playerbase and erred in thinking that everybody was going to go all gung ho on this. They don’t admit mistakes.
I didn’t vote on the poll because none of the answers there would have applied to me.
“I won’t have time because of the level of busywork in this expansion. Nor will I have time to move into more difficult content for the same reason” would have been my answer.
It’s Blizzard’s obligation to the customer base and to their investors to know what their customers are going to be able to handle and what they’re willing to pay for. Clearly wishful thinking was a big factor in the design if they thought casuals were going to find this inspirational.
I was on alt 7 when then cloak broke the camel’s back. guess I got on at a bad time and it was literally only me in the place I could see running around. Maybe I saw 1 or 2 other players. I know for the first commander I had ample time to read and reply to email hoping some randoms would show up to make this easier. No one showed so I said well…lets do this the hard way.
Not on one of the most bone crushing of dps outputters either. feral druid…
that first assault from the 100% to commander draaaaaaaaaagggggggeeeeeeedddddd.
I said I am done here really.
Inb4 get better gear comments. I had that. If, you know, I wanted a bright glowing red z troll feral form. Kind of why I started it. to cleanse the gear to at least have the stats.
God forbid people want to see the raid but for various reasons can’t get into a normal/heroic/etc group.
Best comment of the day!
This needs more upvotes!
Honestly I think Blizzard is trying to find other things that they can give players aside from just PVP, Raiding, Dungeons, and World Quests but you are right to say
that.
I think they are removing themselves too much from their bread and butter ie PVP, Raiding, Dungeons, and World Quests and focusing wayyy too much on the world quest experience and only accomplishing a small percentage of their goal in terms of user engagement. They certainly achieved some levels of success but it came at the cost of meaningful Progression:
PVP Progression (PVP Vendors, New Maps, Mogs, World PVP Lag, World PVP Balance.
Challenging Content - AKA no Mage Tower, Class Story, Player Agency this expansion. The mage tower was an amazing challenge. I would have been fine with them making mage tower for each power type in wow over all specs. However they dished Islands, Warfronts and Visions to us instead. This is what made BFA feel so Beta For Azerothly (aside from the bugs in dungeons and raids). It just felt like a whole new system for the sake of dishing something “new” which ended up being the most consumer supported beta test ever in the history of mankind. I would hope their “AI” learned enough to hold a fun challenge in SL because the BFA test was not fun to play through for a period of time for each respective content.
I disagree, considering the cloak is incredibly casual. My demon hunter I started 3 weeks ago involving progression and gearing. By that, I mean as of this Tuesday, it is her second reset she’s gotten a box. All it takes to upgrade your cloak is logging in 2 times a week. Once between Tuesday and Friday evening to do both assaults (a 45 minute problem). And then once again over the weekend to do the other mini-assault. Probably 15 minutes. Then you do your visions. So long as you don’t screw up, you upgrade your cloak.
Each Vision takes no more than 15-20 minutes for a full clear. For cloak upgrades? Less. The amount of work required to put in one’s cloak and do the bare minimum is tiny.
So all the casuals have it and there’s no issue.
Okay.
