Let's think about the Tinker as a playable class

I feel like if there was a tinker class, I would hope their class resource mechanic is fuel.

I’d make a goblin, simply for the Warcraft 3 nostalgia

Trinket class? Oh, you mean humans.

Fuel, or maybe steam pressure like some vehicles use.

Also, you guys can probably tell from my mog how much I’d love a genuine tinker class. xD

And, there might be some bias here, but Orcs should have the class as well!

Let’s not.

After writing my post i started thinking that maybe mag’har orcs could be trinkers too, because all the Iron Horde thing.

I’d settle for that. But even regular orcs have shown some engineering aptitude.

Yeah I didn’t actually read past the title. :man_shrugging:

There will be a class next expansion. The question is what is it going to be?

As of now, yes, the Tinker seems to be the frontrunner, simply due to the introduction of Tinkers within the Island Expedition teams, expanded lore involving the Goblins and Gnomes, Mechagon, and the fact that of all the WC3 heroes, only the Tinker (and the Goblin Alchemist) have abilities un-utilized by the existing classes.

With that said, I don’t think you’re looking at a DPS/DPS/Tank class. I believe that the Tinker class will be Tank/DPS/Healing, with the DPS spec being a melee/ranged hybrid similar to its incarnation in HotS and WC3. In other words, it’s auto attack is melee, but its abilities are entirely ranged, sort of like casters, but being physical-based instead of magic-based.

And according to lore how they could heal? I always thought that Trinker technology wasn’t related to medicine or some healing technology, or i’m missing something?

Check out the Island Expedition Tinkers. They literally summon a Healbots and Medibots that heal allies. Hovering above their heads it says “Tinker’s construct”.
