Lets talk: undying and immortal

Having done undying on three characters and immortal twice, it just takes coordination. YOu can’t pug it, or expect pugs to be capable.

You need a solid consistent group of people all playing with the goal in mind. Even then it can end up getting miffed, but you can do it.

Undying and Immortal are two of the more annoying achievements to complete.

Especially when your on smaller servers where your pool to pull from for raiding is limited.

I’d have personally earned the achievement probably ten times over if it was like ulduar, however all it takes is one person just not paying attention to what their doing and suddenly it’s over for everyone.

The content isn’t hard, but it’s also not hard to die in naxx either. Hell plenty of people just die on frogger which apparently messess it up because froggers tied to grobbulus.

I personally prefer the ulduar method.

Back in the day you could die to trash, or full clear to the last boss with the few core players then invite the rest.

Still can. The frogger bug was fixed so you can die on anything but an encounter.

Couple notes are Razuvious adds count as boss encounters even after the boss dies, and dying to boss debuffs (like noth) count even if he dies.

Outside that, play safe and you got it.

The fun of this challenge is to keep tweaking your strats for the safest clears possible. There is not a lot of rng in naxx and with the higher game knowledge this achievement should be in reach for any guilds with a full compliment of competent raiders.

You’ll do a 180 on how you feel the moment you get the achievement.

Just make sure effort is being put into improving the raid each week.

It was always no deaths on the boss. You could die on trash but no one in a lockout could die to a boss.

See I could have sworn it was harder back in original wrath. I don’t remember getting it there either because one of our mages lagged so bad on safety dance.

He doesn’t even make you dance now so yeah it was harder back then. lol

This isn’t true. The ulduar cheevo’s state “within that raid lockout period”

Or that the subbed in dps knows left from right on Thad… or fails the jump.

If you get to KT while on an Immortal run, have your DKs take Death and Decay off their bars. Would suck to lose it because someone didn’t see the void zone under them due to DnD.

This is incorrect. We have had priests die to the adds, after Raz died, and still obtained Immortal.

I suggest we go the other way. Ulduar achievements should be ID wide, not per boss. EVERYONE will eventually get the Ulduar achievements. Unless you go exclusively with undergeared pugs it’d be impossible not to…, so the achievements will mean nothing.

At least Undying immortal are kind of difficult to get. But even then… if you still haven’t gotten them by now you either don’t raid, are extremely unlucky or… you’re just bad. :person_shrugging: :man_shrugging:

This is correct. Encounter ends as soon as the main boss dies. This is also why Sard3d zerg runs are possible.

Other dude is right, but I think yall are arguing different things. You CAN die during a Naxx lockout and get immortal/undying was his point. You just can’t die on a boss fight

You can even show up late. We’ve had people join the instance after two wings were cleared and they still received credit for Immortal.

Yep, you can do swaps mid dungeon (like getting a priest for Razuvious) and the achievement is still awarded.

a tip for KT is put a spriest in the melee group. We had a rogue get frost tombed and legit show dead on the logs but the vamp embrace must have clipped the death and healed them from 0 before it registered. They never died and fight continued. Got immortal after.

One of my ideas I had running in my mind that the achievement should be reworked to "Undying: Not dying throughout the raid (others deaths do not count) and “Immortal: No one in the raid is allowed to die throughout the raid” to gain these achievements. This way it keeps the challenge and doesn’t punished the person living the whole raid. These achieves aren’t hard it’s just the people your playing with and the varieties of issues that stem from dc’s to just not caring.

got the titles on both classic and retail back in wrath. Its not too difficult but random internet issues can cause fails. Honestly if you get 25 people with a head on their shoulders its not too hard. The content isnt that hard and it gives players something to work towards while being fully geared and it was meant to be a limited time thing not for everyone. I would have loved if they kept this for every raid tier (which they added cutting edge and ahead of the curve now).
