Let's talk macros

...

Yes. Same button. You can watch tv and play with an arm tied behind your back. Pressing one button isnt making decisions u know. There is nothing to decide. Its mindles button mashing 11111....
Thats what macros do. Automate gameplay.
Other arguments are kinda moot so im not going into them.

You can watch TV and play with or without macros. Especially in the beginning when you are auto attacking mostly. I know I do. Lol
Try a pally. Two buttons and auto attack. No macro needed. Until the higher levels when pallies aren't as OP. They start off practically invincible.

You still make decisions depending on changes in the environment. Oh look you dotted up 3 mobs two are coming for you and the vw is almost dead. Better stop wanding and use a different ability. The macro doesn't make that decision. The player does. So no they don't "play" the game "for" you.

You are confusing bots with macros. The player still decides what to do. Even in cast sequence macros like the lock one. The player decides to push the button again and put up that next dot. They could also decide that immolate is a waste and run up and auto attack.

The macro doesn't make those choices the player does. So I don't see the automation here at all. The player still decides. The player still inputs the next step based on THEIR decision. Not the macro.

If it was automated like a bot the macro would make these decisions. Instead the macro is a vessel for the PLAYER'S DECISION.

Im not mistaking. Those things i mentiomed could have been made with macros. Bots were just more elaborate macros. Nothing else.
Its automation. Its the deffinition of automation. Pressing one button over and over isnt a decision.
