Gimp them to the ground. Vanilla was easy enough withouth them. We dont need macros playing the games for us
Macros don't play the game for you. As was pointed out about hunters macros literally separated the good hunters from the huntards in most cases. I know some played without them and did fine.
Warriors needed those weapon swap macros to save your hide if the main tank went down or some genius DPS pulled aggro.
Stance dance too. Two of the reasons I'm looking forward to rolling a warrior and a hunter!!
Not only that warriors have a lot of abilities tied specific stances. They literally need macros. Good luck convincing warriors they need hit one button to swap stance, then open their bag and character sheet to drag and drop their weapon set on. Then hit another button for there ability they were going to use lol.
All that just to save some DPS that doesn't use macros or add-ons because they play the game for you. Uh huh.
I'm not worried. Macros and add-ons will be there just like the original. Which system we get is the question?
Seeing how they are building it on modern infrastructure I see no reason for them to use the old API. The new one is more restrictive from what I'm being told anyways.
You don't like them don't use them. but sorry add-ons and macros are part of customizing the game to your play style.
Don't force your crap on me and change my play style because you have some perception that you press one button and the game is on auto play. It's just not the case.
I know I'm not the only one but honestly if it wasn't for add-ons and macros I would have quit 2 weeks after I started. Not due to difficulty but that UI is just.... Leaves a lot to be desired as far as functionality goes...
Being able to customize my UI and make it my game was so sweet. I think I spent a week just tweaking my UI when I found out about add-ons. Another two weeks learning about using macros. Lol
Let's also ignore the fact that macros help build community. You know that noob hunter who can't control his pet. Then the class leader teaches him a couple pets macros. Changes his game completely and maybe even his view of the class leader and guild as a positive. Thought this whole thing was about community?
A lot more to it than "they play the game for you"....js
Tldr. Yes they do. If you press one button to make several tasks = automation = playing the game for you.
Besides, what you are saying is whoever has more elaborate macros is a better player. And that should never be the case. It should be a game of skill and not a game of writting more and more macros.
