Thank you for posting this and being a voice for our class.
Ah, that explains it.
We all have our preferences, what we like to see as available options.
The tone of your other post is horrible. It manages to be both condescending and childish. It definitely has a screaming-at-a-barista vibe.
Looking past that, you raise some interesting points about talents and maybe about PvE performance.
While they could’ve left a dev note on the removal of double tap, if you play any arenas it should be obvious why it was removed—it was just too much burst. You could certainly argue that there are many more threatening classes/abilities in the game but you shouldn’t just ignore that the MM burst window had the potential to 2shot people.
Your arena class representation graphs are far from damning. No hunters are at the bottom and survival and BM are close to middle pack. I was in a solo shuffle last night where the MM Hunter went 6/6. Also, if you’ve been watching the AWC there has been a survival hunter in the EU bracket (on the Fiends, I think) that is obviously quite a threat. I’ve also seen some teams using BM. I would like to see more representation from all the classes in arena but I could see how it would be hard to balance without essentially making all the classes similar to the point of losing their uniqueness.
I think critique is great and is the only way to improve. But if I were a dev, I definitely wouldn’t be responding to your post solely because of its tone.
MM gets 10% leech base line, instead of having a pet. Exhilaration 50/30. (30/20 now) And be able to DMG while in turtle.
Yes yes yes, 100 times yes. Bring back blink strikes.
So your post in that forum only has 1 reply by a Monk? And it was started by a Paladin? Are there no Hunters on the Community Council? No offense at all meant, it’s just odd.
I still find it funny that Paladins are getting this huge rework, when Paladins are far better off (as a class) than the entirety of the Hunter class. But what do I know? And that’s off topic.
I guess you and I remember tbc differently lol we were op as hell. In pvp and pve. I hit 2000 in 3s and regularly topped my guilds dps charts as BM, and all I had to do was spam steady shot auto shot lol. Beastial Wrath mixed with the beast within was absurd in pvp lol.
There are a couple Hunters, namely Watermist and Maizou. I haven’t seen Watermist around lately, unfortunately, and Maizou is an often mistaken individual to say the least.
Hunters were the least-represented class in rated PvP during TBC, both original and TBCC.
This is just my forum avatar. I’ve played hunter for over 15 years now and is the class I’ve played the most by far.
What class would you play if hunter was not an option?
I enjoyed your community post.
This is part of why hunter getting a melee spec never made any sense. Our entire class was built (and still is for the most part) to get out of melee and kite. They’ve changed it’s gameplay every expansion since it was introduced. All of that work for less than 1% of raid parses and m+ runs, I wish they would just accept that it’s not catching on and revert it back to ranged.
Priest or Shaman.
For survival, I have always been a bring back ranged surv. Since I know that is happening or even a 4th spec. Let’s improve current surv then.
It seems to be all over the place. Bombs are cool but let’s make it a true melee spec.
