So, like a ton of other folks, I’ve been an avid WoW player since it launched way back when. I’ve certainly gone through a lot of phases as a player – from being a world-ranked Death Knight way back in Wrath, to now being a casual scrub – but playing WoW Classic recently (both TBC and Season of Mastery), it’s kind of reinvigorated my love for the game.
That said, some of the recent announcements for Wrath Classic have me a little concerned. So, I made a video to discuss some of these things, and some of my thoughts.
I’m pretty new to making videos, so by all means, I’ll take any feedback or suggestions on that front as well!
But more than anything, I just kind of want to get the conversation rolling on what the FUTURE of WoW Classic may or may not look like.
Anyways, here’s the video where I go on a deeper dive:
Also, any likes or anything are appreciated!

Probably with SoM is top guild running GDKPs charging 20k-50k for item in bwl and selling that gold on g2g back to the same people buying the items in gdkps.
Who, me?
Well if you watch the video, you’ll quickly see I am a GARBAGE Warrior on TBC Classic, lol.
But yeah, GDKP is definitely a pretty massive issue on the Classic servers. I suppose there’s nothing necessarily PREVENTING anyone from just “starting their own group using standard rolls for items”, but the Gold-centric servers are definitely a pretty big barrier for entry. Admittedly, even the live servers, I’ve really noticed gold values getting pretty crazy.
Still, despite current issues, I feel like it’s a shame to see TBC Classic disappearing to make way for Wrath Classic servers, even if the latter is certainly going to be more popular. I’ve only just started really experiencing TBC Classic, and as much as I loved Wrath back in the day, I kind of wish I could just take my time and experience TBC at my own pace (which is honestly pretty slow), and get to experience BT and Sunwell AT lvl 70.
