I’ve been waiting since Burning Crusade to use my Gladiator Netherdrakes on any of my characters, or even my other priests. But nope, that’s apparently out of the question. Though I can transmog my challenge mode priest set on any priest, but not my gladiator mount. The logic. . THE LOGIC.
Oh. Wow. Glad I didn’t bother with this thing at all. Dropped that thing immediately when I realised how lame it looked and sounded anyway.
You still should do it on at least on character, the Mecha-done achievement reward is worth the effort I think.
My only problem is I’m exalted with Mechagon, so I’ve been pretty active there and I’ve only unlocked 3 colors so far, kind of annoying really. 
Ah… I knew there had to be a reason why Blizzard didn’t just do what they always did, and slap each individual color variant in as a separate mount, flying dangerously close to the sun that is “dye” mechanics.
That is the new meme. “Time played metrics” “its a conspiracy to make you buy tokens” blah blah blah.
Its the go to for trolls now, as if every other mmo or gaming company doesnt use the same metrics…

This. I was HIGHLY annoyed that my Gnome alt can’t ride the awesome shiny red Mechanocat that I grinded for, because they haven’t unlocked that specific color. Complete waste of yet another ground mount.
Discovering the colors were character locked is what made me stop bothering with them. I’ll just leave it the silver-gray that it comes when you first build it.
It’s a quest on Mechagon. You do it, you get the blueprints, them make a device to summon one at the Big Robot Thingy That I Can’t Remember The Name Of.
After that, it’s in your mount list.

You must be new to the internet
So the color customization is one thing but whats the deal with this being a ground mount only. Until it can fly which was just made unlockable with the patch it was released in i have no reason to even use it.

The way the cat mount coloring is a dumb decision.
“We made something fun and cool! Now what can we do to kill new cat mount owner enthusiasm?”

I too was disappointed to find out that the colors aren’t shared. Kind of takes the excitement out of getting them.
You probably aren’t the only one, but most people aren’t that vindictive so I’d wager that’s a minority opinion.

You could have seen this long before it was unlocked.
If it doesn’t have a blue header, it’s not account wide.
Go to the Isle of Giants. Look for the Zandalari ship. Climb on top and go afk near the bow. About once an hour, an elite Zandalari will spawn and drop four to seven thousand points worth of rep in random Panda tokens. Just farm him, you’ll get exalted with Shado and probably everyone else in a few hours.
I fully agree to this. I may even go as far as allowing your alts access to all the items a rep quartermaster has to offer, if you main character has reached the required reputation level. Quests and paragon chest will still be character specific.
I like to look at my characters as one big extended family.
Cat doesn’t fly, so I stopped caring.
