i agree, it wouldn’t work if it existed or could exist … but it’s just an element of rpg.
I don’t think the Greek drawings are weird, they are just old and out of modern artistic vision.

Biology can’t really account for a moon goddess mating with a deer demigod, then one of their grandchildren mating with an elemental stone woman with three faces and four arms…

I forgot to comment on what classes we would have in this race:
Warriors, hunters, warlocks (why not), DKs, maybe mages? shamans (of course).
If I may be so forward, I would change Natural Riding to an out of combat only racial that can be used anywhere (kind of like the Night Fae cov ability), but add that outdoors where mounts are usable, it doubles as a ridable mount for one part member, like a druid and travel form.
Unbeatable Breath: unmounted speed increased by 5% on all party members in a 40yd range from the Centaur. Does not stack with other movement abilities.
I’m hip to changes and additions but my simple brain just has to ask: will they have more gear slots than bidpeds? Aka two boot/feet slots? 
I know that centaurs are a fairly standard thing in fantasy, the question I have is: What do they eat? Are they an omnivore like a human? Or a herbivore like a horse?
Just really curious.
They made them pretty decent looking in Reforged. They at least got rid of the derpy look for the males. Since the females always have their mouths veiled in every depiction it would be interesting to see how that would turn up in the character customization.

I find this part of your post very unlikely. Centaurs tried to genocide the Taurens and the Horde also tried wiping out the Centaur.
That said, there’ll probably be as much chance of Centaurs joining the Horde as Night Elves joining the Horde.
I agree here, I’ve always argued that the Centaur should be Alliance for mostly that reason. That and the Alliance still needs more beastial races in my opinion. And come on where else would something that is half human and half horse go?

I can’t imagine Cenarius being ok with a race he likes joining the faction that has been deforesting Ashenvale. Please don’t bring up Horde races in the Cenarion Circle, because they’ve cut whatever ties to the Horde they have, if any.
Though if they became Neutral, I would give one a try.
I can see them being Warrior, Hunter, Shaman, Priest, Monk and maybe Druid.
wont happen because lorewise, centaurs fall under the race catagory of quilboars, gnolls, troggs etc, intelligent enough not to be completely feral beasts, but not enough to be considered a civilized race. Its way more likely ogres get a spot in a faction before centaurs.

I liked your idea about the racials. And I agree with the idea that 100% speed works only in outdoor environments and outside of battles (that’s why I said that the centaur needs to concentrate…if someone breaks their concentration , they stop running)
The part of the allies being able to ride the Centaur is also interesting, based on the example of the Druids.
About the equipment: in fact it would reduce 1 slot.
Normal people - Cloak, legs, feet.
Centaurs: Armor on the back of the horse’s part (replacing the cloak) and anklets (replacing legs and feet) - the anklets would be 1 slot only with a unique armor for quadruped characters.
MAYBE they could have a unique armor for the second chest (the chest of the horse) being a shield or some additional armor, having 3 slots again.

There is more than one centaur clan.
I created a lore where I explain about Baine going to talk to a group of centaurs who do not follow the other clans and are actually at war with them.
I believe that lore, explanation and possibility, exists.
About them going to the alliance:
Either they would be neutral, hanging on two sides, or they would go to the horde for being bestial and warriors like orcs.
A person here on the topic gave the idea and I liked it, in the alliance there would be dryads / cenarians.
Wait so a life time enemy of the Taurne can put that all behind them and become friends and military allies but an exchange of words from Tyrande is enough to sour the relationship between the NEs and a lost tribe of NEs?

Just as there are tauren from other tribes who are not part of the horde, and in fact they are constantly at war with the horde’s tauren…
There’s already centaurs in the Horde, at least one has sworn the oaths in a comic.
Also the Zandalari were enemies of the Pandaren for a long time and they seem to be getting along fine. Tauren seem like the forgiving sort.

I don’t see them ever doing this. But in a post-mechagnome world, you don’t have to. Mechagnomes never see their shoes/gloves/bracers, or really their pants either. They are just stat slots and it doesn’t really break everything. Leave the paper doll alone, and just have the items change to fit the model, or be invisible.
I’ve been wanting Centaurs since Vanilla and the quests in Maraudon.
