A large portion of the player base wants to be able to be an evoker without being stuck as a giant lizard.
Lets stop pretending we can’t just use the casting animations in the game. We don’t have to disintegrate from our mouths, we can do it from our hands. It’s literally just ray of frost.
Only ability that would need special coding is Deep breath and I’m sure we can all get over turning into a dragon while flying through the air with it.
Wings can come out of us for Hover, lets not pretend DH’s don’t exist.
Can’t make humans have wings? Just make the evoker humanoid visage a blood elf. Might as well, thats what half the dragons are anyway.
After doing this, feel free to add things like choosing your race for visage or whatever. But lets not pretend we cannot just use the human model evoker uses for visage and have it cast everything but deep breath.
Just give us a toggle for staying in visage form except for deep breath. If you can’t figure out how to not have us turn into a dragon for the other breaths, just have us flash into a dragon form and back out once we finish the cast.
they’re too woke, thats why they gave us this lizard lookalike instead of an actual cool dragon. FireBreath should be renamed to ash cough or something and they should fire whoever thought it was a good idea to give us this trash spit instead of an actual firebreath attack.
I don’t see Guardian and feral druids complaining for being unable to fight in humanoid form. Why people keeps wishing to play a dragon themed caster but don’t want to look like one?. There are other casters out there that fight in humanoid form if you really want that.
Druids have multiple options that allow them to choose the model they like the most. Among the 20+ cat/bear forms, there’s almost assuredly something that works for just about everyone. Evokers don’t. They’re lizards of different colors with barely any variation.
Cool, don’t turn it on and stick to your Dragon form. No one will judge you.
There’s literally an entire plethora of barbershop customizations for the Dracthyr form, not to mention for the human/elf form as well. Even more than a druid model because you can change little specific things here and there. Dracthyr are the natural form. It isn’t a shapeshift. The Visage forms are the shapeshift. Seems people keep forgetting that.
And they all look generally the same. As a Guardian Druid I can be a dinosaur, I can be a bear, I can be a weird owl thing, I can be made of stone/wood, I can be a werebear, etc. I can choose between models that are drastically different from eachother and find one that suits me rather than choosing between a rainbow of differently colored lizards with minor variations.
Because no one cares when they think the natural form is ugly as sin. I consider my visage form the actual canon form of my character because I genuinely could not care less about Dracthyr as a race. They just happen to be what my class is tied to and I have no other option for playing my character.
At the very least a permanent visage gives me the option to mitigate how overwhelmingly ugly I think the dragon form is.
I mean, we should get something similar for the druid. At least let them get the barbershop armors. It’s the same issue dracthyr players are expressing. People just want to show off their gear or characters and look unique.
It’s not even a matter of that they can’t do it, you can use the atomic recal or a deviate delight to be in a non-dracthyr form in combat, the reasoning doesn’t make sense when we already have some options to be in a non dragon form as an evoker but letting us choose to stay in visage form while in combat is where Blizz wants to draw the line? I personally don’t care how the animations look so if I’m a human firing a disintegrate beam out of my mouth or if I’m flying and it looks like I’m swimming through the air that’s whatever I just would rather have my mog and not be in dragon form while fighting.
