Since he fails at pretty much everything and is probably the game’s least imposing villain can we all start calling him… “The Failer” instead?
Here’s my reasoning…
1 - His real name is obviously “Captain Nipples”.
2 - He says “Noone escapes the Maw!” an awful lot… then everyone escapes the maw.
3 - One of his only feats is kidnapping and trying to kill Baine… and screwing that up. Then he kidnaps him again, and screws it up. I think that’s 3 fails right there.
4 - He takes Jaina captive, and we free her, then he takes her captive, and we free her… that’s 2 fails in one.
5 - He takes Thrall captive, and we free him, then he takes him captive, and we free him… that’s another 2 fails in one.
6 - Tyrande spends… what like 7 months now running through his Tower murdering his dudes and he can’t do anything about it?
7 - There’s a broker just kind of hanging out in his front yard and he can’t catch her. He’s supposed to be God Tier and he never thought to just… step outside of torghast? She has a portal linked to his front door. He literally cannot miss her.
8 - Hundreds of thousands of people “sneak” through his house every day murdering millions of his troops and crafting gear in his entryway side room.
…I mean I can go on forever here.
He literally fails at every single thing he does.
Terrible writing, terrible concept, terrible execution.
so… “The Failer”
In lore are we all actually maw walkers or is it like the dumb legion thing where every one in the class hall was the class leader with the super important lore weapon?
He is honestly the worst villain ever. Denathrius is soooo much better at everything. Hell, even now I can’t believe I’m going to say this but, even Sylvanas is a better villain than the Jailer.
I hate this garbage so so so sooooo much. It yanks me right out of the game. I literally can’t feel immersed in this new ChOsEn OnE garbage (unless it’s old content or 4AM, aka the zone’s deserted) because we are so obviously the millionth chosen one out of a crowd of chosen ones.
It’s a MMO. Single player narratives clash with the very fundamentals of the genre. FFXIV handles it a thousand times better and it’s still jarring there.
I think we are one of multiple mawwalkers, since they refer to us mostly with “He is a MawWalker” implying it’s a term most everyone seems familiar with and that there are multiple mawwalkers by extension. But then were also refered to as “The Mawwalker” which seems to basically refute this.
Same. I don’t understand why the help from the lore figures couldn’t just explain how we got out.
So did a quick search after this and it seems to be that each of us are the Initial Maw Walker and the other players around us came in after with the portals. So we are both The Maw Walker and A Maw Walker.
I mean, so far all of his major plans are going quite well. He got the anime he needed from Denathrius, death machine broke, he found what he needed in Anduin, what exactly is he failing at that actually matters so far?
Sounds fair enough. Solid logic. He is pretty good at keeping his plan under wraps because I still don’t have a clue what he is up to. Other than collecting souls like a hoarder and that he HAS a plan.
edit: Even though he did drop one of the leaders off the cliff there, I did chuckle because who can stand Baine any more?
I assumed it was more like in FFXIV where YOU are the main character. YOU are the maw walker - everyone else, other players and whatnot are just sort of them as background characters
Yea hes just not threatening because he hasn’t really done anything to make him threatening to us. The worst hes done is abduct and ‘lock away’ our leaders… and thats it.
Literally Denathrius, Lysonia or Kel’Thuzad are all more dynamic and ‘present’ villains at the moment because we’ve actually seem them do bad things and what the effect those things have had. All the jailor is really doing is sucking souls into the maw, and creating an army that… can’t really leave the maw? Woo?
