Lets protect GDKP

There used to be DKP or EPGP guilds in classic era. Where did they all go?

The choice now is either a roll or a GDKP, or even a consul if you look hard enough.

Personally, I don’t like consul loot because it gears items on GM friends first.

And if I have almost geared up my char, I have 1-2 things left, how can I win a roll for the last one? This is almost impossible, the probability is close to zero. So i need just waste my time raid by raid gearing up another random players that i don’t know.

The only choice left is GDKP to at least try to buy last items when they drops.

Or you know, form guilds who run EPGP or even DKP (though I wouldn’t).

The choice is whether to let GDKP be the only option, or do the same thing people used to do and form guilds that do more than just sell their services to whales.

Make your own raid with a specific comp to avoid loot contention or HR things. It’s that simple. It’s a 10 player raid. Get social, make some friends in a small guild or something. The probability of you outbidding a whale without RMT is close to zero. Most of it will be replaced in 4 weeks anyway.

Sounds like an excuse to justify wanting to P2W tbh.

If you engage in RMT, you should be banned.

If you can’t find a good guild for loot council, just do soft reserve. Buying gold and using it for gear is not acceptable.

SoftRes is catching on, I like it.
Occasional pugs we’ve had to instruct have liked it.

Works great for exactly what you are describing.

Um no. Let’s abolish tokens and ban gdkp.

Just be aware, you are advising people to break TOS to try and punish players who are not breaking TOS

I would be very careful given these are actionable violations (whether Blizzard actually would is a separate issue)

To ‘win’ at GKDP, I need to have the most gold to guarantee no one else can outbid me.

So, in order to guarantee that, I’ll buy a large number of gold from illegitimate websites.

GDKPs don’t care about where it comes from, money is money.

So… yeah.

Basically people butthurt and/or impatient for rolls on items, for fear they’ll lose, so they had to drag money into it.

Turning a game into the ultimate loser-fest of who can swipe the hardest, gg.

Reporting GDKPs for gold buying is equivalent to when in HotS you report someone for “abusive chat” solely because you didn’t like his hero pick, even when he didn’t utter a single word in chat. False reporters are why we can’t have nice things.

Difference is that everyone in a GDKP is directly or indirectly involved in gold buying. 100% of the people in the runs know that most of the buyers are buying RMT gold, many runs are joking about it on discord etc. People play dumb but everyone there knows they are complicit in cheating, whether they’re doing it themselves or receiving the illegitimate gold.

This is an interesting take. Have you spent much time organizing scheduled raid groups?

I think old boss kill point/ guild contribution point exists still. It just for a 10 man raid ppl wont care about that much.
We used boss kill points in 40 man back in mc and bwl. Zg is just ms >os. Ubrs is just free need roll.
Still, I am not against the bidding system neither. We always say you pay for what you get.

I’ll keep reporting GDKPs every time I see them. Looks like Blizz is taking action since all the p2w kiddos are crying about bans. I know on our server players are always complaining on their lvl 1 alts about being reported.

Bots, the real villains, have weaponized reports against the innocent as well. Certain bot farms use mass reports to trigger automated action against players who gank their bots.

Adding even more fake reports to the queue makes it take that much longer for CS to process legitimate reports.

Definitely not good behavior.

Sounds like a problem for Blizzard. Consequences of their bad design and lack of support.

Uhh…

I mean in the sense that if the game is terrible enough people unsub, sure. But I would say we are impacted before Blizzard is impacted.

It is pretty terrible and lots of people are unsubbing, my friends list was full on release and its a ghost town now. Everyone back to playing other games.

its the bad game design not what kind of raid form ppl doing.
Endless nerf for called balance
Old school rng drop rate
That is two biggest thing making ppl quit.

Yes.

GDKPs have been one of the straws that broke the camels back into what destroyed classic.

We should be banning everything to do with GDKPs, logging, consumable gatekeepers, etc. make classic actually fun by banning all the tryhards.
