Let's not forget about private servers and why no one was playing TBC or Wrath over Classic

kronos tbc wen

i mean, netherwing was ok? only leveled to 60, lol never saw tbc content on a tbc server

If you trust this blizzard to develop anything new for classic and not ruin it you’re crazy.

Ouch! That sounds painful!

Oh good. Then you can tell me what on earth Glinda is talking about. I played TBC when it was WoW’s latest expac. Was I strip-mined? Was I an IP pirate?

Or is this about something that happened on private servers?

Or is this just obfuscation – only the “cool kids” know what Glinda means?

Honest answer here, not trying to be edgy “down with corporate Blizzard” here or anything. I have bought every WoW expansion, but I haven’t liked what they have done in many years. Each change irritates me more than the last to the point that I have no intention of buying the next one. I’m done with all that.

If I have so little faith in the retail product, why would I have any faith in those same people creating new content for Classic?

Because some people are capable of enjoying games that aren’t level 60 WoW and do have faith in them being able to do a good job expanding on classic.

But not enough faith to go back to retail?

Pretty much everything good about classic is the responsibility of a team that no longer words there and a lot of the problems are due to thing the new group has done.

I think you’re really underestimating how many players in Classic play both.

This.

Wrath has been the most popular expansion/pserver servers since forever.

The only reason vanilla servers even got popular is because all the TBC servers ended up being cons and everyone had already been playing wrath servers for 10 years at that point.

There wasn’t a good TBC server.

I searched. It just wasn’t available. The scripting was usually non-existent or terrible.

This is dishonest.

There is a very good reason that TBC private servers are not as popular as vanilla pservers. All of the TBC private servers are a buggy mess or are full of cash shops or both. Look at the most recent popular tbc private server to be released - not going to say any names, but it is buggy garbage yet people are still playing on it just because it’s TBC.

I imagine they’re referring to the fact that Guilds have been running the vanilla raids on private servers for a decade, so everything has been super optimized and there isnt even a hint of mystery or much if any room to develop new strategies etc, because over a decade pretty much everything has been tried. There will still be some of that obviously, but I dont think Apes etc hit Tbc private servers the way they hit vanilla.

I could be wrong though, it happens frequently. :man_shrugging:

Ok we got two problems here OP.

  1. You’re referencing private server players who will be way less likely to play some classic + based on anything these forums have suggested so actually TBC would be more popular than that.

  2. Lets say sure let have classic +, when are they going to start now? They would not only be way behind but do not even have the devs to do this right this second. No ones going to want to spend a year and a half on Naxx waiting for some classic + that might not even have what we’re looking for and cost a lot of extra money for them.

So many people want so many different things that no version of classic + would be as good as TBC. The people wanting TBC are not going to be interested in your version of classic + and if we make it similar like I’ve seen people suggest then why not just have TBC.

OBVIOUS :fishing_pole_and_fish: post.

WoW wasn’t dying by any stretch of the imagination when TBC was released.

:salt::salt: / 5 because you got a few people.

:cactus:

Barely anyone wants Classic+ which is full of unknowns where with BC the work is already done and there is already a population asking for it.

So, only gnomes and dwarves? That doesn’t sound like fun.

I’m not sure if I should laugh at you for your ignorance or report you for trolling.

Including you.

I am sorry but you do not speak for everyone, nor does everyone agree that TBC was better.
