Alts should be a decision for players to experience the game in a different way, not another roll of the dice, a coin for the sloot machine.

Let’s kill the use of “Meta” as a buzzword that most people use without considering what it means.
They used it correctly though
Why is a demon hunter dictating what players can and can’t do with their alts? Nerf isn’t enough, blizzard should delete demon hunters from the game.
DHs > everyone else.
Did it sound like that? because i said “Alts should be” not “must be”…
…where can I play this machine?
Asking for a friend.
You should have stopped there if you ask me.
Oh cool, another user who wants to dictate to others how the game “should” be played instead of just letting people enjoy things.
Ah you mean the part of race, gender, class? Sorry i don’t get your point , those were examples of why people creates alts, i think that alt creation only for another chance on a specific cosmetic leads to a bad design, the game should be designed around players only using 1 character to N.
We won’t need huge changes on Love is in the air if they didn’t change it from the first iteration on which you could spam the dungeon with a single character as example, still the drop rate is insane even with a spam scenario but at least all player could have the same player field, instead of forcing alt armies and leveling characters for each new expansion, otherwise epic box won’t be available.
Giving us unlimited tries to obtain the holiday mount a day on any character would be cool. Don’t know why we would apply that to old raids too? Just the holiday stuff since it only goes on during a certain time.
Because that’ll diminish a lot of players frustation around a lot of low drops, they could spam it with any character at any moment. That content is not longer meaningful, the lock out just extend the time between attempts and the workaround it’s to create more alts for those players.
During content droughts some players could just do something too, like farming all the transmog gear or a specific cosmetic.
The word toxic strikes again
Just ask for removing lockout on old instances, lot of people would even agree with you. But saying why or how should players create alts is bit unnecessary.
It sort of takes away from the reward that it is when it does drop if you can just spam the same boss over and over. Maybe that’s just my opinion on it tho.
Got it, it was more like a personal experience on the post, thanks for your input
My pleasure.
Not that’s true in part and also could cause burn out, I could see some players complaining about a diminsh of rarity for some mounts because everyone will have more attempts, however the actual drop rate doesn’t need changes. At the end the Devs have to take this feedback and other counter arguments and check which one it’s better or just ignore it.
I hear that FFXIV handle old content like this without a lock out, if some FFXIV player could provide me more inputs from their Glamour farm…etc thanks.
Is “meta” really something that refers to farming obsolete content for cosmetic items though?
It refers to a metagame strategy of maximizing your odds by creating an army of alts to do the event over and over again.
In essence, a “meta” in gaming terminology is a generally agreed upon strategy by the community . Said strategy is considered to be the most optimal way to win/ has the best performance at a specific task.
Someone could consider Meta even moving on the lines that leads to Korthia Portal, so you don’t get dismount…peak performance
