When the new transmog system first launched, I thought: ‘Cool, I’ll be able to have my sets whenever I want,’ but then I actually tried it.
It’s definitely cool, but I feel like changing gear doesn’t mean anything anymore since you don’t even see it.
So, I stopped transmogging. At first, I thought I’d look like a total hobo… but so what?
Honestly, I’m pretty happy with it; I feel like I can actually see my progress better now

I’m of a mind that the modern appearances are just awful-looking. All my characters in general use mogs from no later than Pandaria. As far as a gauge of progress, I suppose I care more about not looking like a clown when I’m playing.

Yeah. To each their own, no judgment from me!
Personally, I’ve caught myself just staring at the gear set I had equipped, simply because I managed to finish it.
Objectively, yeah, these new sets aren’t really great-looking compared to what else is out there… But… it’s a sense of completion I hadn’t felt in a while.
That’s the beauty of choice my friend. Enjoy the freedom.
While leveling I turn it off. I just prefer it. But at max level (or when I simply hate the look of the new teir) I’m mogging.
