There are two uncageable rare drop pets in Nazjatar, Brinestone Algan and Budding Algan. Normally this isn’t a big deal, just keep farming you will get them eventually. However, for the last 3 days I haven’t been able to spawn Avarius because of the Hungry Hydras world quest, it seems to phase out or replace his spawn event. So now we have a pet that isn’t as reliable a farm as one would hope. Still not a big deal but pretty annoying.
Even worse though is the rare Rockweed Shambler that drops the Budding Algan pet. To get this rare to spawn, one must go around Nazjatar killing the lost and wayward algans. Supposedly the rare will spawn once you kill one of them. I say supposedly because I have only seen this rare once, already engaged by someone else. I have spent at least 1-2 hours every day but the first since the patch hit massacring algans across the zone to get this rare to spawn. I have never managed to spawn it yet. I read that it may still have the cooldown timer that other rares have and one won’t be able to spawn it for ~ an hour after the last kill on it. But players have no way of knowing when the last kill of it was.
Farming the Budding Algan pet is driving me insane. This is probably the worst pet farm that has been in the game so far. The next worst one I can think of is minfernal when it was released but it was still nowhere as bad as this. Something needs to change, either make the pet a guaranteed drop for if you ever actually find the rare, or make the rare easier to spawn, one kill in 13 days is insane.
