We tried that in vanilla. Alliance complained that the reason Horde won PVP so much more was because of Shamans. Horde said that Alliance had such an easier time in raids because of Paladins.
I hate fractions, me no good with numbers
Give Alliance some bad as* heroes again like Varian and we got a deal. Right now Alliance would get absolutely stomped by anyone on the Horde
I feel like both sides suffer from wimpy leaders now lol, i’m still salty on how they offed Vol’jin
Varian was a turd.
Or were you being sarcastic?
Never played the original RTS games, I have no interest in RTS games at all. I came here to explore, do quests and see the story. PVP does not interest me, tried it during TBC, not done much since. The faction divide does nothing for me. We always end up fighting the big bad world threat together.
Totally agree. Faction war stories are stupid because they can never have a good resolution, as any resolution would upset half the playerbase.
WHOAH! That’s a big leap there from point A to point B.
Faction conflict does not equal faction war.
Faction pride is a good thing. But to get it, they need to raise the barriers back up, not bring them down.
The original premise of this game - which worked quite well - was of a Cold War setting. Two great powers, staring each other down. Occasional moments of cooperation (like the real world’s Suez Crisis). Occasional fighting on the periphery (like the real world’s Vietnam and Korea). But in general a stalemate with both sides working to outmaneuver the other.
In Wrath, did Alliance players get off the boat in Howling Fjord and report to Sylvanas for orders?
No, because that would have been stupid. There was an Alliance story, instead.
In Burning Crusade, did Horde players go throuh the Dark Portal and report to Danath for orders?
No, because that would have also been stupid. There was a Horde story, instead.
In Shadowlands, Horde players land in The Maw and Jaina’s in charge… who just tried to kill us all a few months ago.
And instead of a Horde story or an Alliance story, there’s a cheap one-size-fits-all story.
That’s stupid.
People are complaining about the story in Shadowlands because it has no connection to the “world” of warcraft that we’ve been playing for years. And a huge part of that is that there’s no Alliance/Horde story, separation, or content in this expansion.
People like to talk about how the factions don’t matter, but the factions are what make the game go. The problem lately is that Blizzard’s new writers just write a one-size-fits-all Alliance story and force it down everyone’s throats.
Blizzard needs to stop with the cost-cutting and make actual Horde & Alliance stories again. If people say “the factions don’t matter because we work together”, then it’s time for that cooperation to end.
What’s really sad is that so many players have bought in to Blizzard’s cost-cutting.
They still have Horde members that are willing to kill the Alliance who are also powerful at the same time. They’ve got Thalyssra, Lor’themar, Thrall, that new Darkspear guy and the Zandalari queen, the Mag’har leader, etc. We’ve got, like, Turalyon and Genn, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Blizzard would write them getting bodied by the first orc they come across, lul.
Nah. Varian’s the goat Alliance leader. He could have ended the Horde like a solid 3 times.
Are you kidding me? I’d rather just do the BG’s. Trying to fight in the forums is just one smack with the Ban Hammer after another.
And here’s this guy. Who knows all about WoW from reading about it on Twitter. He’ll doubtless talk about how he still has me muted. LIGAF.
Pretty much.
Probably because the current crop of devs can’t figure out the old crop of devs spaghetti code. LMAO!
Whatever. I’m going back to bed. Wake me when the servers are back up.
Ok, so you were being sarcastic.
Good joke lol
I’m most certainly joking. ![]()
Remove factions and remember:
For the Night Fae!
You are obsessed. Trying to talk with me in other threads.
NO.
Game developers don’t know how to make a faction war and the rampant Horde bias ruined the Alliance so much that they are at their lowest point in the game’s history. Do you know what’s the first proud moment for them since Legion? The Alliance High Elves which are also a compromise race. The developers also insult the community on both side, either through a genocide or dumb Horde leaders. Nobody wins here.
The least we need is another faction pride fight. We need a rebalanced game, more players on Alliance and a better lip- and fanservice for them before we can even think about starting another faction war.
And now on an eeo kick.
I guess they are going to whip out trade war? Everything else would be kind of non eeo-compliant. anything else might ruin the safe place. Killing for money…the civilist war ever. its about the money y’all. Truly nothing personal. All business.
OR maybe Maiev whips out a momma joke on thrall when he returns? Too hot for eeo?
Warring factions? I can’t even spit on an alliance I just murdered anymore lmao.
Like when heroes of the alliance and horde banded together to defeat C’thun?
Or when they banded together at the Black Temple to breach it’s defenses and storm it together?
Or when the Horde and Alliance joined up to push Yogg’Saron back into his prison?
Or when there was a specific tournament of both Horde and Alliance to fight Arthas, which led to both the Horde and Alliance storming Icecrown Citadel?
Or maybe you mean the time the Horde and Alliance teamed up to raid the Blackwing Descent to put an end to Nefarion?
Maybe you mean when the Horde and Alliance both braved the Dragon Soul to take down Deathwing?
MoP actually had the faction conflict be a major part of it… Or it would’ve! Everyone had to join up again to take down Daddy Garrosh.
Maybe… Nope. The entirety of WoD was about Horde and Alliance working towards stopping the Iron Horde, and then pushing back the Burning Legion from past Draenor.
Legion was almost entirely about a coalition of all races and creeds joining together to push back and defeat the Legion, once and for all, so that can’t be it…
Ah, we’ve finally come to Battle for Azeroth, where you’d think that the selling conflict of starting an all out war with each other would be the main focus?
And it finally was with the Battle for Dazar’alor, but after that?
Back to holding hands to put down another Old God in one of the most cliche and unsatisfying cutscenes to date.
Everything was just fine … But Jaina and her attitude change every single patch … Elune Brainwashed Tyrande … We can now only Hope that Turalyon , Alleria and Genn would turn the Tide !
I’m honestly expecting Turalyon to cause the first real civil war between alliance races, given the fact that he a complete and utter fanatic.
